So, it's been pretty cold here and the other day I found a small broken plastic bit on the floor of my ground, which turned out to be the lock lever/latch that connects to the thumb button on the male plug side of the VW L1/L2 EVSE. Bummer city. Not exactly sure how it happened, but I am...

So I am waiting to take delivery of my ID.4 so in the meanwhile I am looking for chargers. What are some of the chargers you guys have installed inside of your homes? Currently I am looking at the Enel X JuiceBox 40 because I have found that the Electrify America chargers aren't that...

I have an Electrify Home and an ID.4 updated to software version 3.1. So far I've charged it in off-peak hours daily via the Electrify Home’s scheduled charging and it works really well. I'm willing to give the ID.4’s scheduled charging a try, but I wonder if there's any benefit to using that...

If you schedule your EVSE, it will kill power at a certain time that the car's computer doesn't know. Will that sudden stop of power not be hard on the battery over time? We have a Flo X5 and we wanted to use the ID4's scheduling. But. Well. I don't need to elaborate on why we aren't, haha.
  7. Volkswagen ID.4
I admit my EVSE may be off, but… when I had the Bolt the EVSE would pretty reliably show that the car was drawing 32.0 amps. Now with the ID, the EVSE shows the car drawing between 30.8 to 31.1 amps. does anyone else see the current draw from their cars that seem “off”?

That's the max I can go in our garage without having to do a major upgrade, but I would like to upgrade from the level 1 charger. 16 or 24 Amps would be fine for our usage. I bought the plug-in ChargePoint HomeFlex and didn't realize that it's the version you can't set below 40 Amps. So we have...
  9. Charging, Batteries, and Charging Networks
Hi I'm thinking of installing a level 2 charging station (EVSE like ChargePoint or Juicebox) at home for my personal use to charge my ID4. My condominium associations wants me to insure the charging station and any damage that could arise with the charging station. Calling GEICO/ Travelers...
  10. Charging, Batteries, and Charging Networks
Full disclosure: At this point, I'm not really interested in the cost savings of charging overnight. I'm enrolled in the Comed time of day pricing, but after having my brand new ID 4 stop, and not re-start charging several times for unknown reasons, I just want the fricking thing to charge to...

  12. Charging, Batteries, and Charging Networks
I'm new to the EV world. I have an ID.4 FE, and recently I was traveling to PA and the hotel had an "EV charger". What I found was that it was just an outlet in the parking lot, but it was not a normal 120V outlet, so my included Level 1 charging cord did me no good (I ended up finding a...

Hey Y'all! I'm arranging to have a level 2 Charger installed in my garage soon. I'm wondering where people have decided to place their charger in the garage? To get into the garage, we have a door on the right hand side near the front (close to the garage door) when facing the garage. I wish VW...
