I have only owned the car 17 days and driven it 10 days. 330 miles on it and after charging for the 2nd time it gives me a service warning😯
4604

So I charged at Walmart completely normal, drove home no issues. We load up the family and start to drive to the zoo. Error pops up while driving…

last couple days car has been charging my phone super slow, won’t connect to my phone, phone apps won’t work right through Apple play and also phone charger gets super hot (I figured this was all due to weather)

car goes to dealership Monday. Any suggestions In the mean time?

The error message has happened for a few of us, including me. In my case, I was at the dealer when it happened, and they didn’t find any useful diagnostic codes to track down a cause. It hasn’t happened again, so hard to know what the root cause was.

Did your orange trouble symbols clear after you got out of the car for 15+ minutes? As long as the code is not recurring, just take it to the dealer on Monday and see if they can pull any codes that might pin down the issue.

I'll just jump in to say that the phone charging and connection issue is not related to the drivetrain issue, but the excessive heat is a common complaint, especially among Apple users, and a number of us have observed sporadic and/or slow wireless charging. Please update us on the resolution of the drivetrain issue as I've seen a few other forum members and on the FB group post this, but it always seems to self-clear and often not recur.

Understandably disconcerting ID 4 pro S first EV. You'll note a few others have seen same and the fix was often the now common wait-reset.

btw: My iPhone gets so hot using the charge mat I now opt for the USB-C connection.

Keep us informed as to what the dealer service relates.

And as my Co-Mod often well cites, please do also log your issue with VW Customer Care: (800) 822-8987 [saved you this one Spin ;) ]

This issue also occurred for me. It didn't show up until right after I stopped charging at an EA station. I charged from around 15% to 80%. For my issue I have a hunch it's related to the battery cooling because it was a long charge from low SOC and the ambient temperature was 100ºf. Overnight, the issue cleared and not come back up but the ambient temps when charging since then have been less than 80ºf when I charged. I charge almost daily because my commute these days is either 100 or 180 miles round trip. I've charged 5 times since with no problems.

It has happened to me too a few times right after fast charging with a high ambient temp, and it always seems to clear itself after some time to set. First time was right before the 60 day check and while I was about 400 miles from the dealer, right after a big charge at an EA station. It drove and charged fine so I pressed on with no issues. Dealer had the car for about 4 days and could clear the codes, but the charger codes would come back. They had the VW engineers involved too, but were not coming to a resolution and I had to take the car and head 650 miles back home. That was about 2500 miles ago and it has come back a time or two and always cleared.

I got to looking at some other scans that were on the Ross-Tech forum and noticed that every ID.4 I looked at had similar codes on the charger. I think it is a heat, timing, cooling, who knows, type of thing that is triggering it. I really don't think it is a true issue, and some generic thing in the software. But driving those 400 miles with a yellow warning light was not the most comforting

Here is the scan of the charger code before I took it to the dealer:

You should update to Beta 12.7 which should have descriptions for those unknown faults:

U15BF Intelligent Charging Function: Communications Error

B1AD0 Charging Station: Identification Failed ETHTRCV_30_AR7000_SLAC_STEP_3_PARAM_REQ_Timeout

This was from factory VW scanner short messages copy.
I will see if I can get one to see your side of development...you are definitely known in Germany as good substitute for factory testing tools.
It would be nice if you come with obd2 dongle and phone apps for more intuitive use for die hard enthusiasts that wanna see more about various pid addresses.
And i would suggest to visit his website and forum his company is quite good and great for enthusiasts and Service shops who have interest working on VW.

I've had similar results with my wireless charging on a pixel 5. I'm sure it has to do with the pad being underpower and the phone using wireless Android auto/ car play. But I also feel you on the service light. I've had my car for a couple of weeks and the screen on my infotainment went black and wouldn't respond at all. I've never own a car with so much issues before let alone one this expensive. Luckily you're in a warranty.
