We have had our 2021 ID-4 Pro for just a little over a year and racked up 20,000 trouble-free miles. Service involved topping off all fluids. Compare that to an ICE vehicle! My dealer (Sendell in Greensburg, PA has 2 2022 ID4s on the lot, one in the showroom.

Probably going to be discounted as German cars not eligible for federal tax rebate.

Thank God everything was OK. This dealer was East Hills VW in Sayville, NY. I have come to realize that their service Dept. is incompetent. I now use Platinum VW in Hicksville, NY.

Please tell me the car doesn’t tell you it’s time for service like it did for 10,000! The message on every startup was irritating particularly since you can’t clear it yourself.

Thanks for sharing, as there seems to be more chatter recently if problematic ID4s. I guess it’s expected as more and more folks take ownership and start sharing their experiences on forums. But it’s always nice to read about the many more happy and trouble-free experiences here!

It will do that every 12 mo/10k miles ... and you can clear it yourself if you Google around enough ;)

I searched this site and seemed like consensus was that the dealer had to do it 🤷🏻‍♂️
This is a thing all German cars do (and have done for ages)... in my Golf I can do it by holding down the trip odometer reset button when turning the car on after I complete the oil change - but the reset button is now buried in the software in the ID.4 so you need VCDS or OBDeleven tool. If you're considering doing this yourself, I'd recommend the OBDeleven tool as it can do much more with these MEB cars. Oh, and you get the first two services for free, so no reason not to take it in anyway, right?

Bring it in and let the dealer do it. Free fluids! It will all take about as long as it takes to drink a cup of free coffee in the waiting room. It is nothing like an ICE service session.

Not true! I completed the 20,000 mile service a month ago. As part of the process they charged it for about 30 minutes, and the explanation was to see how much it charged in that time vs. how much it SHOULD have charged in that time. Overall took about two hours.

It’s a pain to take it to the dealer. I have VCDS license/dongle from my TDI days so I’ll have to dig into that…in 6,000 miles.

No charging on my 10000 mile service at the dealership. Brought it in at 58% and left with 53%.
