Compromise requirements....because to ordinary owner that are after exterior look...brand difference are making engineers life very hard.
Just front bumper changes design will have big effects on pedestrian
Design and look doesn't go hand in hand with chassis development safety.
That is why most of Super sport vehicles don't even bother to get it tested ( because if they did most of people with big pockets will think twice before buying).
Side impact EV are 2-3 times more rigid than ICE chassis .
