Same with me! I also went to Douglass VW.I don't have time to read this whole thread, but when I went to Douglas VW in Summit to test drive, the salesman had me fill out a form to reserve the $2k rebate. I also have a Model 3 ordered (Plan A is a 2023 ID.4 arriving in '22, plan B is delaying the Tesla until '23). They reached out to reserve the $2k as well.
Either way, I feel like we win in NJ with no sales tax!!!
Yeah, last year that rebate almost run out in couple of months or so. I think mostly because there is not many EV these companies have to sell and also mostly Tesla cars went up in price $55k+ make them ineligible.Just thought I'd post an update: Interesting to see that there is still 50% funding available for the Charge Up NJ program. I expected that the money would have run out long ago! I guess maybe the semi conductor shortage and federal tax credit have impacted sales?
Did anyone have any luck receiving their cars yet? Unfortunately I've been stuck at 10 for over a month now as it doesn't look like many silver iD.4s have made it off the production line.
The order sheet for my reservation says $400 registration/title fee and $498 document fee.Can anyone tell what fees dealers are charging in NJ for VW ID4 on top of MSRP? So the way I understood my dealer told me no markups but they are asking for $800 dealer doc fees! To me that seems excessive. So MSRP + destination + Dealer doc + DMV/title/reg.
I picked up my AWD Pro S a week ago and the 2K rebate was applied to the sale price.Has anyone successfully used the Charge Up NJ program to get the rebate? I'm due to pickup my iD.4 on Friday and the dealer is saying that they will do the application and mail me a check for the rebate afterwards. Does that sound correct based on anyone's experience?
I should add that the dealer applied for the rebate when we did the sale paperwork.I picked up my AWD Pro S a week ago and the 2K rebate was applied to the sale price.
Same situation here. I reserved an ID.4 in August and had the dealer file the paperwork for the rebate at that time. The car I got was someone’s cancelled reservation and so a new rebate application was filed for that one.Yes the dealer for my original reservation applied for the paperwork at the time of order. However that isn’t arriving for months yet, so I’ve found a cancelled reservation at a different dealer. I’m sure it’s nothing shady as they don’t seem like the type. I’m guessing my dealership hasn’t done many of these yet and maybe it only familiar with the prior process where I believe the rebate was issued after the sale. I’ll see how it goes. Thanks for your replies!
Speaking of PSE&G what did you have to do to file for their benefits? What documentation did you need from your electrician? Is the bill credit towards the electricity bill only or both electricity and gas?It should definitely be a line item and not a rebate. IIRC, the law was pretty intentional and specific about that. Even if you trust them, they will have no incentive to complete the process properly. If you haven't signed the paper yet, ask them to email it to you. Otherwise, it's the equivalent of your dealer calling you up and asking you to loan them $2k, on the honor system, with no set repayment date!
On the ChargeUp website, it shows my incentive status as "Incomplete" so I assume they're waiting for the registration or something from the dealer. But I don't have to worry about it because I already bought the car with the $2k off.
On another note, I successfully got the $250 ChargeUp home charger rebate for my JuiceBox. It was much easier to do than what PSEG is asking for to claim their benefits.
I haven't submitted yet, but I'm glad I asked my electrician for an invoice, because I'm going to have to fill in some of the details that PSEG is asking for, like address, date, license #...plus they need proof of purchase, serial number, permit, and inspection receipt with specific details. The online portal seems easy to use though. I'm just waiting on inspection.Speaking of PSE&G what did you have to do to file for their benefits? What documentation did you need from your electrician? I am still waiting for the car. However, I want to have Juicebox40 installed and ready. Would you mind sharing how much electrician charge for installation to run a NEMA 14-50 outlet from available 50A circuit from the box, including cable and labor?I haven't submitted yet, but I'm glad I asked my electrician for an invoice, because I'm going to have to fill in some of the details that PSEG is asking for, like address, date, license #...plus they need proof of purchase, serial number, permit, and inspection receipt with specific details. I'm hoping that will get me some reimbursement for the electrical work, and the off-peak rate reduction is small, but a nice bonus in the long run.
I actually haven't gotten the ChargeUp $250 check yet, but it was approved quickly and it's on the way.
I got my ID.4 AWD Pro S at MSRP. Qmerit automatically quoted $800 to install a NEMA 14-50 next to the panel, but I have 100 A service and upgrading to 200 A results in 2.5K extra.I am still waiting for the car. Also, what were the additional costs dealer charged on top of MSRP of the ID4?
