Unfortunately they aren’t building them in order of request for each individual car; it would just be very inefficient. They make them in batches of AWD vs RWD, in color, in trim level. I ordered mine before you but you might get it first if your color or Pro S Plus is in production prior to mine.
also there are people who ordered in April that are still waiting.

None of the ID.4 Standards are moving in anyway. These numbers been the same for a couple weeks. (off the VW ID4 Chrome Assistant Add in)

The Salesperson at the VW dealer, zip code 75034 called me this week to see if I was still looking for an ID4. I told him that I had turned down my MY22 and was waiting on a MY23 AWD Pro S Plus. They had some MY22s in stock and might be willing to deal. Of course that could change day by day.

My ETA bumped from 12/17-12/22 to now 12/27-12/29. Smaller, more accurate? Window, but wayyyy too close for comfort. Time to set up my backup plan :cautious:

That doesn't bode well for my 12/23-1/12 delivery window...
Do you mind sharing what part of the country you're in? Also, is your car showing on either your dealer's website or the VW dealer inventory page?

And nope, neither. Still 15-2 as of this morning.

VW Inventory only appears to have AWD Pro S. I haven't seen any other trim besides that on there for whatever reason. Haven't checked dealer inventory since last night. Cars.com had quite a few non-AWD Pro S's in the area a few days ago, but have since disappeared. Strange. Maybe they were delivered and picked up already.

Either way, plenty of AWD Pro S with much later VINs showing up on all 3 sites (most still in transit), but nothing on mine. Dealer is already keeping an eye out of cancellations and I'll be reaching out to nearby dealers in the next week or so.

I'll most likely still buy the RWD after 12/31, but it'll definitely sting knowing I missed out on half or all the credit.

The same thing just happened to me. On a cancellation i reserved, I went from December 16-20 to December 28-30. Fortunately I was able to move to an identical vehicle that someone else cancelled that has an expected arrival of December 15-17.

Good luck on your plan B.

My dealer called to say he received a VIN for the red 2023 that may arrive before the end of the year. Does anybody have a feel for how long it would take for a car to leave the factory after it gets a VIN. It's shipping to Illinois and the dealer said that part happens pretty fast.

After the car is built at Chattanooga factory it has to clear Customs (Port). Once cleared that is usually when VIN is released to the dealer.

I would suspect your car is awaiting transport. Not sure if they go by rail or truck to Illinois. But you are probably closer than most folks.

Dealer sent me the Monrony (window sticker) today, so I have the VIN. Can I track the car location with the VIN?
They are tacking on the upgraded Homelink rear view mirror, MojoMats (tm) with heavy duty trunk liner and CarGo blocks and the first aid and EV roadside assistant kits.

MojoMats are apparently the floor mats that you would normally get with any other new car.

He said it was loaded onto transport, so chances are good I will get it this year. "US Direct Shipment"

Chances are improving that it will show up this year, I am excited! Hopefully on a truck like Plant Peon noted should only be a few days.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the most out of the 2017 CRV I will be trading in. Honda dealership, CarMax or trade in to VW?

I'm waiting on the same car. Mine just got unloaded off the train on the 12th, so I am cautiously optimistic that we'll have it in time for the full credit.

It wouldn’t hurt to get it appraised by all three. Used car prices are dropping especially compared to a month or more ago.
I had went to my dealer, a different dealership, and had VW quote me on my lease. VW would have been $1000 less. You may have a differnt outcome though.

I think all ID4 Standard Orders are on hold. Or they have no idea when they are going to produce them. The data from the chrome extension does not move; I think a few people have canceled that is why the numbers have gone down.

Does anyone else with a ID.4 Standard order have anything other than a date range for the first 6 months of 2023?
Estimated Delivery (Range) (?)Jan 2023 - Jun 2023

I ask this as some people are reporting they are making orders in November and getting locks in november for 82kwh vechicles. With a delivery date range ending in March and April.

I think by this information and the large 6 month range on the ID4 is they have no control on some of the parts and do not have any idea when they are going to produce them?

Plantpeon mentioned with a wink that they were producting the 62kwh models starting on Nov 14 22. Although none of the chrome add on numbers or data reflect this.

I know dealers are not suppose to get stock until the reservations are met; but maybe all the 62kwh model produced are demo models for the auto reviewers and auto shows.

Seriously disappointed; my original order was put in Feb 22. They would not switch it to a 23 model to be built in the USA when the Inflation Reduction Impacts started. Started all over in August. Now seeing people making orders 3 months after my second order with delivery dates 3 months before my second order. Really getting to be a major screw over by VW.

My dealer informed me that my S trim is in "Production Wait List", whatever that means for when I'll get my car, with no production date.

VW had clearly demonstrated that they don't care about the customer with this approach to the reservation process. Why have a reservation process at all if what they were going to do all along was flood the market with AWD Pro S in 3 specific colors.

Went to 35-1 sometime within the last 48 hours...car showed up at the dealer today (12/19). Picking it up on Wednesday. Hopefully no PDI surprises! 🤞.
