Considering VW stopped offering the Passat here in the USA, I'm not gonna hold my breath.
I hope the Space Vizzion is next, but again, not holding my breath. The Passat wagon hasn't been offered in over a decade :-(

I still think it’s a hatch. They said this was positioned to replace the Arteon, plus if you look at the rear photos, there’s a visible seam running between the rear window and antenna that matches the hinge on the Arteon and is not present on Passats.

Obviously can’t say for sure yet but this might be my next car depending on the final specs…

The screen looks very different from other ID models. There don't appear to be any short-cut buttons at the bottom.

If it's got enough cargo space behind the 2nd row, I'd consider it as a second EV for us. I wouldn't mind having a larger vehicle (ID.4) for lugging things around and medium-sized trips and a slightly smaller vehicle (Aero/ID.7) that can go ~350 for longer road trips. Also, depends on how much they price this at. Given how much the First Edition Ioniq 6's are going for in Europe, I hope they don't try to meet that price range (even though I know the FEs of the new Hyundai are probably spec'd up).

Looks like a nice competitor to Hyundai’s Ioniq 6. I, too, would prefer a wagon, but I suppose this body style is more aerodynamic.

I really think a fastback design is the way to go - same aerodynamic + design benefits of a sedan, with just a WAY more usable cargo area.

My biggest concern is headroom. I barely fit into an arteon and any bump in the road is game over. I’m hoping that the fixed glass roof eats up less space though, because I find the ID.4 better than a Tiguan with a sunroof 🤷🏼‍♂️

It looks like a Ford Fusion crossed a Hyundai Sonata. If that is the final design I am glad I will hopefully eventually in this decade get an ID.4.

Yeah, that's why I'd love to see the Space Vizzion. Low frontal area + high volume. Maybe increase the rear rake for the improved aero...

I sure wish the charge port was somewhere towards the front so you can pull straight in at a charger instead of backing in. That would be so much easier. I hate backing in, thinking all eyes are staring at me struggle. Lol.

Yes! I much prefer having the charge port on the drivers front fender ala e-tron, Taycan, Bolt, etc.

Time to upgrade to a 2023 with self parking
