Well, after a week, I’m still glad i picked the id.4 over the Tesla my. But have noticed some things that would be nice if VW would give options in the software. Here is a list of things I would like to see implemented.

1. A sub option under the voice guidance, to turn on or off the voice for toll roads or toll gates. Right now you have to turn off no tolls and just want to be able to turn her off for the toll road ahead.

2. The ablitiy to leave the climate and radio on after the driver leaves the car. Plus, there has been a lot of people that would want a dog mode like the Tesla.

3. The ability to have wireless CarPlay or android auto that does not have to use WiFi. I have read a lot of people that are going from the wireless to corded and have a much better experience. I do experience music shuddering and also the maps stay on dark mode all the time.

Hopefully the VW rep sees this and considers these suggestions. Feel free to add other suggestions to the list. My wife has been telling me that we are beta testing the vehicle and as with an beta, suggestions are needed.

All and all, I love the vehicle and going on my first vacation the 4th of July. Will see how it goes with range.

Welcome! You're in the right place, as far as I (we?) can tell VW does look here. There is SO MUCH here. It's invaluable.

You can find a very long list of suggestions like yours here: To VW: Changes we would like to see in the ID.4

Re: your wireless CarPlay issue and audio interruptions, you can do a search for it but the short answer is: turn off wi-fi searching in the car's settings.

Have fun, and apologies to your wife for the time you'll spend here.

I can't speak for Android Auto, but Wireless CarPlay always uses WiFi. That's just how it works on the iOS end. There's nothing Volkswagen can to do make it Bluetooth-only.

2. There is an option. As you park, an exit screen show up, select the first option

1. Not sure what you mean but voice guidance has two levels of details, select the lesser level if you think she talks too much

Wireless Android Auto (Android 11) seems to be hit or miss depending on the brand and model of phone. I have no issues with my LG Velvet.

I’ve tried the park screen climate on and after 10 minutes, it shuts off with my wife in the passenger seat. I personally talked to vw and they said it would be a good idea to have a “dog” mode.

The voice guidance is either on or off at this time, my wife wants options to turn on and off different nav suggestions, like toll roads and gates off but in nav it can suggest using.

Welcome to the forum!

There is a stickied thread for same here: To VW: Changes we would like to see in the ID.4

Many of us passed along .pdf lists of likes/dislikes/suggestions to our dealers, and they in turn VWoA, at our 30/60-day "double check" service appointment.

On my test drive, the EV Specialist from the dealer told me that was the purpose of the (I'll call it) 'ignition switch pushbutton where the key used to go' button. A person in the passenger seat could push it to wake the car up if it timed out while they were waiting. Just passing it along. I've never tried it. I made a cynical comment to the effect that they must have had a lot of leftover plastic steering column surrounds to put that button there....
