I have an issue when using Android Auto on Samsung and Google Pixel devices. Wirelessly connects fine and works for a bit but after about 10 minutes or so, audio starts to skip a lot. Has anyone else had this issue and come up with a solution? I've tried shutting down all apps, trying different audio apps including music, podcasting, and audio books.

When I use wireless Apple Carplay, everything works perfectly.

I'm on an LG V60 and my wife uses a Pixel 3, both work wirelessly on AA really well, only occasional brief audio skips, usually only a single event, not a succession of interruptions.
Mine is pretty consistent. I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to stop. What version of Android Auto do you have?

I have this same issue. It happens with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for me.

I've tested on several phones:
Galaxy S10 5G
Galaxy Note 10+
Galaxy Z Fold3
Pixel 5
iPhone 12 Pro Max

Every one of them has experienced audio skipping. Sometimes it is more frequent than others, but what I can say is I don't think I've ever had a drive without at least one skip occurring.

The iPhone is the only one of my devices on a beta software.

I've also noticed Android Auto is significantly slower to start up compared to CarPlay. Sometimes I have to play around with the Android devices for a while before it will successfully start. Other times I cannot get it to work at all and have to use a plain Bluetooth connection with no AA display.

It is also strange that Android Auto does not support split screen views on the ID.4 Pro S' large screen.

It also doesn't seem to use the full height of the screen as Apple Carplay does too.

Hi have you tried turning off wifi scanning in the vw infotainment system?

That's odd. What about the hotspot? Is that trial period still active? I didn't have any issues during the 2 week trial, but others have complained the cellular reception is poor compared to their cellphones, and also that the phone was pulling data from the hotspot, rather than directly, during the trial period. Is it possible the hotspot is acting as a go-between and affecting your reception?

Data is going through the phone. Also, the songs are cached on the device so its not streaming.

Wow. The only other thing I can think of is where are you keeping the phone? Given all you've said, this is pointing at either something interfering with the wifi signal, or a problem with the car's wifi antenna.

I've tried the charging area, cup holder, seat next to me. And this has happened on multiple devices. It has to be related to VW android auto implementation since wireless carplay works fine. The interface will slightly buggy as well when this happens.
