Does anyone have this issue? I have a 2022 ID.4 Pro S. When i try to move the map or scroll around, it takes about a second before it does what i tell it to do, also scrolling menus like for podcasts. I don't have this issue on any of my other android auto capable vehicles. Phone is a relatively new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

When I'm scrolling through non Android auto it is smooth as butter, including the built-in navigation

My dealership set up Android Auto when they handed over the car and I could not figure out how to stop it. So I removed my phone in the settings and set it up again without AA. I do not miss anything. Music plays through Bluetooth. Navigation is built in and one can still use maps on the phone and read out through Bluetooth.

Use wired connection not wireless AA and you will be OK. You will need good quality cable also.
There might still be something going on, from my anecdotal observations using a Samsung S21 and several well shielded cables for high bandwidth (40gbs and 80gbs) it seemed slightly laggier than on a Chevy bolt and a Buick enclave. Though it's entirely possible this is related to the display resolution and Android Auto / phone issues. Generally it seems people are reporting better performance with CarPlay, so this might all come down to the current limitations of Android Auto and Android phones.

Are you using android auto wirelessly or wired? Which version of Android Auto?
2 weeks ago I updated my phone(Xperia 5 IV) to android 13 and the latest Android Auto(8.8.130404) and the performance in the ID4 of both wired and wireless android auto has improved significantly. The wireless performance is good enough to run Fermata Auto and watch youtube now.

Lol, those who complain about something taking as much as a full second to load, obviously never had to deal with dial up Internet in the 1980's. Consider yourselves blessed - A second or two is . . . . nothing!
i think you misunderstand. if i try to move the map around, it takes 1-2 second delay before it does the thing i want it to do. its the equivalent of moving your mouse and then the mouse moves 1-2 seconds later

i'm pretty sure my cable is supposed to be the official cable, but i will test more different cables and report back
You can have good quality cable but still loose connection on USB-C side.

Reporting back that even installing android auto 8.8.130404 (which is a beta) did not fix it. Neither did replacing the cables with different ones. Another thing i'd like to add is i tried with my older phone Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and android auto also lags on that phone that didn't have any issues in my other cars.

I tried my girlfriend's iphone and lag is immediately gone. This seems to be only an android auto issue. I even tried to FACTORY RESET and still same thing.

Note that recent versions of AA have removed the option to disable wireless Android form the main settings screen, you must enable developer options to disable it now :(
By default if they force all users of AA they have more data collected if WI-FI, Bluetooth and GPS is enabled... For Google and Apple this are type of data gathering that makes great revenue...because they are tagging down Bluetooth and WI-FI with GPS locations. This type of data is of great importance to some businesses. Example using data purchased from Google or Apple to find person or device of interest approximate location by using Bluetooth or WI-FI and for many different types of location based advertising and etc.
