Any old tdiclub members here?

To my mind, this car is the spiritual successor to the tdi - particularly the early tdis in the late 90s. So I wouldn't be at all surprised if anyone here used to hang out on tdiclub. Let's hear from you!

Does a 2013 Jetta hybrid count? I used to hang out in the VWvortex Jetta VI forum.

I was in the TDI Club. Had a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen. I agree that the ID's are spiritual successors to the TDIs.

But, thinking about old forum memberships, I'd like to run into someone from the original TT Forum. Like the this forum before March, the TT Forum in 1999 was filled with people waiting for a vehicle that was new and different. I owned one of the first TTs to land in Chicago.
I was thinking the same thing... I joined the TDIclub before I got my 2003 Jetta wagon with ALH motor. It really helped warm up my cold feet to find out there was such a great diesel community out there for support. I see the same thing here, and am getting the same good vibes listening to all the experiences, good and bad.
Gulfcoastguy on the TDI forum. I mostly just check it a couple of times a week now.
I used to follow the TDI Forums when I had a 2001 Golf TDI. Probably the best car I've had, or the most interesting at least. As for the ID.4 being the spiritual successor to the TDI- the ID.3 would probably be the closer replacement to mine. And the more I think about it, they're almost exact opposites. The TDI was a long-range (I got 700 miles out of a tank once) not so clean car (although mine met regulations with no tricks), and the ID.4 has much shorter range and has no emissions of it's own (although the power plants might).

Ubugme on the TDI forum. I still check from time to time since I have a 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI and a 2014 Passat TDI. To me, getting a VW that does less than 45 MPG is unacceptable. Once I pay off the ID in 4 years, I'll be looking to get the AWD ID.4 or the ID Buzz or the ID.6.
I had a 2011 Golf and 2013 Passat TDI. I miss them, but I did pretty well with the VW buyback.
Yes, 2001 Jetta TDI, 2003 Jetta TDI (wife), 2005 Passat TDI (very short ownership as I thought I could handle an automatic transmission but couldn't), 2006 Jetta TDI (wife).

Yes 2000 Jetta TDI I had that car for about 10 years then gave it to my son by the time he was done it had around 750,000km Great car. I am now driving a Subi & love the AWD but I miss my VW. The tdiclub was a great source of info
oh yeah saying who we were is probably a good idea. i was tdipoet over there.
Yes! 2011 Jetta Sportwagen TDI. Loved that car despite its faults.

I remember that username. Weren't you like the go-to for answers?
No I just signed on in 2012.
I had to go look it up. 'Oilhammer' is who I was trying to remember.

I wasn't too active on TDI Club until dieselgate hit. While everybody was waiting for their buyback, that particular sub forum had a vibe very much like this forum as members were waiting for their orders to land. I wonder if the ID.4 "wheel of pain" spawned from the buyback software team.

Started with an 06 Jetta TDI in early 08. Great, fun, reliable car!! My wife drove it and I changed the oil. Followed it with an uninspired 15 Passat that, the only good thing I can say about it, VW bought it back for more than we paid for it.
Joined TDIclub in 02 when I got my first TDI, and 02 Golf 5sp. New England winters killed that car with about 300K miles on it. I often got over 800 miles per tank, had 3 1000 miles tanks. Loved that car, wife did to, she cried when mechanic told her he could no longer pass safety inspection due to rust. Then had 12 Passat TDI 6sp, gave it up to diesel gate with 80k miles on it, wish I had kept it. Now driving a 14 JSW TDI 6sp which will be traded in for the ID.4. Same user name on TDIclub.

Did you attend the New England fest? I was one of the organizers. Those were fun days. Always enjoyed the biodiesel convoy runs up to maine too.
Yes. I had an old Jetta TDI, followed by an Audi allroad, Touareg hybrid, to the ID. 4.

No I didn't, my crazy work schedule at the time prevented it.
