Figured while waiting for our MY23 to be built, I'd start planning on how to best haul our twin folding mountain bikes. Ideally, I'd like to mount them and go. Even folded they are too large to stack in the back (too much risk of damaging them).
Any recommendations for a bike rack for folding mountain bikes?

Definitely I would recommend Kuat bike racks. I bought a Transfer v2 for mountain bikes which is very sturdy, not huge and easy to install. This is the only picture of the rack, but I would strongly recommend it. Meredith at Kuat has been super helpful for maintenance and Q&As. I have a Kuat NV 2.0 and do not regret the purchase. Been outside on a vehicle for a year and still looks and operates like new. It is also able to accommodate all my bikes from skinny road bike to fat tire. The integrated locks are Nice and the integrated bike stand has come in handy on a couple occasions. Bikes are easy on/off, came with hitch lock that is keyed the same as the integrated bike locks, and has a very nice anti wobble system which means it is dead silent back there.
If you are not a bicycle person the cost may be hard to justify, but for me it was an easy spend.

Another vote for Kuat - we have 2 specialized e-bikes just under 50lbs a piece and the rack makes it a breeze. I did switch the receiver to a 2” from Curt which took <10min.
Well, looks like a Kuat fan club out here. I have a Kuat NV2.0 as well, one of the few that supports 4 bikes in style. Recently I have been taking the +2 portion off and it becomes a 2 bike rack. Very satisfied. Note: I use it on a BMW SUV - we don't have a ID.4 yet.

I’ve used both 1UP and Kuat NV 2.0 for an e-bike. Both are good racks, IMO.
I like the 1UP for having a single bike model that on my current vehicle stays completely clear of the tail lights and license plate when not in use, and doesn’t stick out very far from the bumper when in use. It’s a bit minimalistic, and can be a bit annoying to lower/raise or to release the bikes at times because of the bare-bones nature of the locking mechanisms. The Kuat is a bit more “plush” in the usability front. But I don’t think you can really go too wrong with either.
