I was pulling a clip from the dashcam today when I noticed there was recording happening overnight. It’s been recording do one or 2 minutes every hour which doesn’t make sense unless there’s something that triggers the vehicle to power on at regular intervals. This was not the case previously as far as I can remember.

My vehicle is parked two level down in an underground parkade with no cell coverage. The Parkade lights are sensor activated and the recording happen with and without the lights being on.
Let us know if the replacement cable solves this.

I swapped it out & the replacement cable did not solve it. Like you, it only records a few times overnight. I'm not sure if I should just let this go or be concerned.

I actually had an incident that I would have loved to have the recording from. When I checked the SD card, there were only a few sporadic videos here and there. Support told me to run a speed test on SD card and update firmware. Former showed 20 MB/sec write and 79 read. Have yet to update the firmware.

Ordered FitCamX on January 14, 2023 for UD$168 and received notification on January 17 that my order has been shipped from China. Received the package today Groundhog Day February 2. Looking forward to installing it and checking it out.

I ordered and installed one recently. The package came with one SD card supplied by FitCamX. I am having trouble keeping my smartphone latched to FixCamX WIFI to download videos. Every download times out at 30% and the LEDs will flash red. I will reconnect to FitCamX "server" or wifi hotspot; LED will turn blue; download will again error at 30% with LED flashing red. Already contacting their tech support; but no real fix yet. Any ideas? thanks in advance

Thank you. I don't see "parking" settings or features except under "Camera file". But I do see "Collision Sensing" under Camera Settings.
I just managed to get stable wifi connection while parked in the middle of nowhere, without any other wifi signals around, my smartphone was able to download video files. So the problem seems to be Android latching other wifi signals with internet and somehow ditching FixCamX wifi connection? 🤔.

My experience has been that Android Auto hijacks your phone's wifi and connects it to the car's wifi hotspot. Turning off the wifi connection on the phone doesn't solve it because Android Auto will reawaken it again within a few seconds.
The solution is to turn off Android Auto within the app itself, and then use the phone's wifi to connect to the camera.
Cumbersome, but it works.
Alternatively, pop out the SD card from the camera, insert it in the USB adapter, and download the files into your computer. You can highlight them all and do a mass transfer, which will be much faster.

Firmware update and using ultra-fast SD didn’t solve the issues. Fitcam sent me a replacement camera which arrived yesterday.

First let me say that their support team is very responsive. That’s on the positive side. On the negative side, I have still not been able to record while driving the vehicle. I have asked for a return authorization and they came back, asking me to reformat the SD mini card. I’ll do that this afternoon and go for a drive and see what happens. Although the looks of the equipment are nearly OEM. If the product does not perform as advertised then what good is it. Too big for a paperweight!

I went though all menus/settings and asked their tech support ...

1. How to delete files "locked" under Camera Files? Tech responded no way to delete except reformat SD Card. I was able to eject the SD card and use laptop to delete these "locked" files found under Novatek/RO. I suspect RO means Read-Only?
   
   
   
   
   
2. Parking in Camera Files - only for those dash-cam power source wired to the fuse box
3. Exposure Compensation. The middle is 0 (zero), no compensation of any type.
   Moving the bar toward right is to under expose.
   Moving the bar to the left is to over expose.
   My goodness, the icons are so little with subtle difference (look at the circle or sun icon). It took me a few trials to figure it out . I was hoping for "brightness" and "contrast" adjustment like regular cameras.
   
   
   
   
   
4. Watermark means time stamp appearing on the lower left of the video
5. Collision Sensing. High means maximum sensitivity. In other words, a little bump will trigger the video to get locked and protect it from getting erased. File probably gets moved to Novatek/RO folder

Sorry to report to the group that after receiving this dash cam in late January and installing with the help of a local stereo installer. I’ve had nothing but several operating issues. Finally I requested a return RA. I believe I may have a defective unit.
Now awaiting the NEW Ring Dash Cam next week.

Were you able to test power to the device? any blue LED blinking?
When I was installing it, I had a lot of trouble disconnecting the power to rain sensor without removing the mirror. But it can be easier if the mirror gets removed. Hope this can help you to check the power source

Thanks for the recommendation, but we have already done all of this and still the video does not allow playback. Again too many issues needs to be returned. Thank you.

Well guys.. I went and got the fitcamx from it's source... aliexpress. Without the customer service or support for a third of the price... and it's the same exact thing for $65 for the 2k version (4k version is upscaled 2k). Also has the rain sensor.
