Is anyone else having issues with CarPlay freezing up, or going very slow, and getting "interrupted"??? I have a robust iPhone and no problems in my other car with Carplay. I have an iPhone XR running iOS 14.6 in a VW ID.4 Pro S.

Look for the Wi-Fi settings and turn off Wi-Fi scanning. Just doing that has made a world of difference in how CarPlay works in my car. I was mostly concerned with the music cutting out briefly and that took care of it. Plus, the lag on the infotainment system is far better.

I have had this problem too. It's only in a very specific freeway overpass area that it happens. Plugging the phone in seems to help, it still interrupts but only for a split second. Without the cable it sometimes wouldn't reconnect at all. Not good if I'm using Google maps!

iPhone XR here with iOS 14.7 and wireless CarPlay. Generally works perfectly. Of course, if the cellular reception is poor or interrupted, then music streaming will be disrupted. As others mentioned, turn off WiFi scanning in the car. Maybe test with a cable to see if anything changes?

How do you turn off WiFi scanning? I don't see that choice under WiFi settings.

The WiFi scanning is in the VW's settings?
