Remove myVW app on your phone. Wait for a couple of hours or so, then reinstall and log in. It should make the new setting prompts in the car go away for a while (usually a few weeks, albeit when they come back it's not as often). At least this worked on my side, MY22, 3.1 software 🐞

I have got this message two times in last 10 days. Does anyone know what updates are done. I blindly said yes on both times 😀. I have 23 Pro RWD and there is no seat memory options.

Your custom settings are probably gone too. Mine are always reset to comfort for every possible setting in custom.Confirmed: Driving Mode changed from Custom to Comfort. 💩

Alright, this seems easy enough to try. I plan to remove the app tonight before I go to bed and then reinstall it in the morning, and we'll see if that helps it or not. Well today the settings are just changing at will. No New Settings prompt. Three times and it’s only 9:40.

I tried the remove App thing (uninstall, wait a while, re-install) but unfortunately it did not work 
My settings are still being reset daily.
I guess my last option is to try driving as Guest, as it seems that's been working for some people. I'll give that a try and see how it goes. Very disappointed in this turn of events.

I'm getting the message on a daily basis, often multiple times a day. I haven't resorted to guest mode yet (at least I have manual seats). Other than the software hiccups, and this one in particular, I've really enjoyed the car since I bought it 6 weeks ago.
The software -almost- makes me 2nd guess selling my 2002 Rav4 where I just get in, start the car, and everything... works.

Yeah, I'm loving my ID.4, quirks and all, but this issue is really killing it for me. I wish I knew the root cause. What are the supposedly updated settings? None of the software versions change, the maps data doesn't change, there's no new features or discernable differences in any functions, and there's no release notes to explain what's being 'updated'. I doubt that it has anything to do with the App as there's not that many settings you can even set remotely from it (climate temperature and a few charging related items) and those aren't the items that get reset. So what is it then? If this were a once in a while thing, I would just shake it off and not mention it. If it happened every few weeks or so, it would be slightly annoying, I might mention it, but wouldn't care that much. But daily (or multiple times a day) is just unacceptable in any car really, but especially one that costs $50K.
Anyway, I think I might actually try driving as Guest (I know I said I was going to try it earlier but haven't done so yet). Instead of manually dealing with switching the seat back and forth, I'll have my wife continue to use her profile and see how that goes. In the past two~ish months, I've been getting the settings reset constantly, but it's only happened to her a couple of times. So best case scenario I can use Guest and stop having my settings reset, and she can continue using her profile and nothing will change for her. Of course, the real best case scenario would be VW fixing the bug so the cars would stop constantly resetting the settings.

I reluctantly switched to Guest about 10 days ago. No further issues with bogus New Settings. My Primary Driver profile is still there though and now I have to click through another message reminding the Guest that the PD can see where the car goes and such. But the settings are stable so far.
I connect my wife’s phone to CarPlay today and also updated my iPhone app yesterday, and my seat position reverted to east entry for the first time in months 😑. I feel like one of those things may have caused it.
I originally thought it might have something to do with multiple phones connecting too, or switching back and forth between profiles, but many people have this problem that are single users, no other profiles on the car, no other phones connecting, so that kind of negates that theory.

I'm trying to get a sense of how just how consistent this problem is across the newer cars.
We get it often in both profiles.
Considering everything, I’m not so sure that OTA updates is actually something to look forward to.
Being a pessimist by nature, I have zero confidence in VW's ability to do OTA updates on this iteration of the car. Luckily I'm aware of and able to avoid most of the software frustrations. The ID.4 with v3.1 is fundamentally a very good car that also comes with some software issues. I try to ignore them. Other owners understandably may not be so forgiving.Considering everything, I’m not so sure that OTA updates is actually something to look forward to.
I bought my 2023 with 3.1 software on December 27, 2022, and haven’t had any of these issues. Not sure what I did or didn’t do differently than anyone else. I am the only driver, my profile shows on the myVW app account, but when I get in the car it greets me alternately as Driver, Anonymous Driver or Guest. My settings have remained as I set them, except for that one strange instance when the driver’s seat fully reclined when I left it for a few minutes. I haven’t bothered trying to figure out how to get the car to greet me by name because it only lasts 2 seconds and I don’t care.
