Looking through the copyright and legal notices provided in the ID.3 UI, I see references to many things that will be familiar to anyone with a passing interest in embedded Linux. Most intriguingly, it lists Bash. So, how do I connect my laptop to my car to open up a terminal so I can have a poke around?

I would be incredibly surprised if anyone outside of VW R&D can do this. It would be a MASSIVE security flaw. Working for a hardware manufacturer myself that uses embedded Linux. An incredibly secure multi factor process needs to be followed to be able to put a unit into Dev mode and access BASH.
