Battery Hot Weather 95+F Concerns?

4668 Views 10 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Huey52
Is there any danger to the battery in 95+ degree weather? I am often unable to find cover from the sun and do multiple short trips during the work day. Will this hot weather cause degradation even if I’m not fast charging?

Manufacturers test their vehicles in extreme hot and cold climates as well as salt-fog, etc. I feel we can well trust the VW engineering.

However anytime the vehicle has to draw add'l power to keep the battery cool or warm will of course impact range. No free lunch.

Welcome to the forum!
Thermal Management is found on pages 41-50 in the High Voltage System presentation. Everyone should review all the well prepared USA NHTSA documents.
Again, welcome to the forum, and required reading. ;)

Was this in the operating manual or do you have links to any documentation about BMS operation?
