Been 2 month since $400 for FEs

For the FEs it has been two months since we've put our $400 down. Anyone think we will get an update soon?

I am going to visit my dealership this weekend. I'll let everyone know of what I hear. If you all have any questions, let me know and I will see what I can find out.

I haven't even put down my $400 yet for last week's migration to FE. I had assumed VW would follow up very soon thereafter. It mystifies me why it took so long for them to do so on the original FE reservationists as well. Not often people are willing to give a company money yet they procrastinate. 🤪

Thanks for the offer of insight. My only admittedly off the wall question would be do dealerships plan to have dedicated mat & cargo liners upon FE sales? I especially always like to get a cargo liner right up front.

I asked that very same question to my dealer this past Saturday. My EV Specialist told me that I'd get the option to purchase directly (via MDO) on the website when I lock in my order. Maybe that's true for future ProS orders, but I never heard about MDO options for the other 1st Edition orders that people locked in 2 months ago. In any case my dealer said they would have mats available to purchase when car is delivered and there was no cost advantage to do the MDO.

My assumption has been that we would be able to order the MDO's when we finalize the deal online (so as to have the option of including them in our financing or perhaps as consideration from the dealer). The question/YMMV would be when these would enter the dealer parts inventory.

I'm hoping to drive off with the Monster mat package.

Same here. I'm still not sure how I feel about the cargo mat having the textile top layer instead of being completely rubber like the version available in Europe. It's growing on me after talking about it with my dealer, but it would be nice to have the option either way. I realize there are other 3rd party options from WeatherTech, etc. Maybe the VW EU Cargo mat version will be sold by some sellers in the states.

Things may be ramping up soon. There was a new commercial on during Sunday Night Football last night. NFL playoff advertising isn’t cheap, so I’m optimistic for you guys. (I want AWD and I’m not budging!)

Looks like our ID.4 Pro friend that was touring.

Very silly.

As an animator, I approve this commercial.

I often go WeatherTech, particularly when dealerships are tardy in provision. US company/workers too (albeit largely robotic production). But then WeatherTech can sometimes be a bit late in production for a niche vehicle (not that the ID.4 is niche per se). However they also heed email requests in a fairly timely manner, if they forsee sufficient volume to warrant their laser measurement/CAD efforts.

I now have an OEM Audi trunk liner in my TTS as WeatherTech was the one who was tardy in that case. 🤷‍♂️ But I do prefer the WeatherTech product formulation and have same in wife's GLA.

So I visited the dealer and they said they hadn’t been trained yet on the ID.4 and weren’t given any updated news. Apparently everything we know from the internet is what they know. So kind of a dead end right now.

Yea, my contact at my dealer has been 'dark' for about a month now. I was about ready to go pay him a visit, but based on what your saying, it wouldn't do any good.

I stopped by mine over the holidays too and he said that they really did not have any information either. I got the feeling I knew way more than he did
