I need to carry 3 bikes with my FE that has tow kit. What is best way to get this done?
I researched this quite a bit and probably would have bought a 1up rack if they were available. I "settled" on a Kuat Transfer v2 and absolutely love it--especially the foot pedal and integrated lock. I really wanted a rack that didn't block the backup camera. I also wanted a rack that didn't require a hitch adapter. This satisfies both requirements. In retrospect, I actually think this rack works better for me than a 1up would have.

They make versions that hold from 1-4 bikes. Here's a pic of my single bike version. (Note that the lens used is extra wide angle, so the bike looks oversized. It actually look great on the car). Good luck!

I have had the V1 for a few years and it is a amazing rack for the money. I have access to a full fabrication shop so I actually cut mine down just above the hinge to not block the license plate on my Veloster. I am waiting for an available hitch for my Pro S/G to see if I need to adjust the height again to avoid sensors/camera.

Hi, I bought a kaut v2 3bike on ebay, surprisingly it has 1 1/4 adapter so i called the company, they say i should be using it with 2inch hitch and i should have got 2inch bike rack with 3bike tray

seems the ebay seller has a return and tge kit has 1 1/4 hitch connection. Do you think i can connect 3bike with included 1 1/4 hitch connection and it wont bend or break. See here. Read description

Not sure why it came with a 1.25”. Whether it will not break depends on the weight you put on it. If you have 2 road bikes with a child’s bike on the last rack furthest from the car you should have no problems but I definitely wouldn’t put a mountain bike in the last tray.

It looks like you can buy the 2” as a separate part for $110. 031-007-02-04

I do wonder if the first buyer swapped the 2” for a 1.25” and the seller didn’t catch it.

Thats what i think the first buyer may have swapped it. I will have one medium bike and two small jetson bolt pro electric kids bike (41lbs) on this rack connected on 1 1/4 hitch receiver of id4. Hope jetson bolt pro is not heavy for this rack. Also the part you linked is not going to work on id4 as id4 has 1 1/4 hitch receiver. Also would i be able to view rear camera with this rack and sensors wont bother me?

You would be exceeding the weight limit for the 2” hitch version 3 bike as it is stated at 40 lbs per bike. The most capacity listed for the 1.25” is two bikes at 40 lbs each. Personally, I wouldn’t do it for any distance or at highway speed. The tongue weight limit for a class II hitch is only 300 lbs and with the distance the second and third bike are from the hitch gives them a lot of leverage against it. With the weight of the rack and the bikes you are over 150 lbs.
