Looks like you are given a second chance. Use it wisely! Take the money and buy a Model Y. You are now the envy of all the ID4 owners who saw their resale values tanking by $20k in the last few weeks.
$10,000, not $20,000. It’s the Model Y resale values that tanked by over $20,000 overnight.

It's said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome. But we all do it. And it may not apply in this case (but then it might?).
I think possibly if that's applied to replacing any broken vehicle with another vehicle (choose any brand).

$20k in the last few weeks? I wasn't aware there was a flood that damaged all the ID4s. $20k that's funny.
I suggest you take the VIN of your precious id4 and plug it into any used car site that you like, Carmax, KBB, Carvana what have you. Go ahead, check your offer. Get your tissue ready though.

Don’t worry, your 29k trade-in value will soon drop below that of the Bolt. What a great car indeed!! VW has finally succeeded in producing a faster-depreciating car than Land Rover.
