Dealers have Demo car to dispose off. Would you be entitled of tax credit if bought a demo from Dealer?

Yes. If the car had never been titled, it is considered a new vehicle.

Definitely ask that specific question: “has it been titled?” When I was considering a Mach-E, a dealer tried to sell me a demo “as new” until I pressed him. He still insisted it was new while also acknowledging it wasn’t eligible for the tax credit.

Did the dealer title it or was it a return?

It's worth mentioning lenders have a mileage cut off for financing (used car rates being higher than new car rates).
Colorado has a 1500 mile cutoff for their tax credit.
The federal credit only says "new" with no mileage qualifier.

We have two statewide rebates in California.

One is an instant rebate applied to the sales price. The rule says :

"This shall include “demo” vehicles that are sold to a customer as new and have never been titled, as well as demo/rental vehicles that a retailer purchases and registers the vehicle in California."
The other, the CVRP, is a mail in rebate, and the rule is a little stricter:

" Be new as defined in the California Vehicle Code (CVC) section 430 and Have an odometer reading below 7,500 miles at the time of purchase or lease."
