Hi,
Some weird problem just happened to my ID.4 pro. First it wouldn’t let me adjust the volume using the capacitive touch buttons. Then I tried Google map via wireless CarPlay no sound.
I tried digging into the system to mess around with sound setting it straight up told me sound management system is not available this time. What is wrong with this infotainment system? These are very silly errors. I left the car by turning the infotainment system off, let’s see if it fixes itself once I turn the car back on again.

There is a topic around here somewhere that mentions it’s an issue with Android auto where the volume management gets stuck managing the phones voice level or something. There was a workaround posted, think by pressing the hello ID button, but not 100% sure.
Sorry can’t find the topic back quickly, but others know what I’m talking about no doubt!

Yes, this is a common problem and seems to impact most / all ID.4 cars occasionally when using AA or Carplay. Workaround is to press the button to use to issue a voice command and then change volume with slider controls IIRC. That controls the volume of the voice system responses, and changing it like that temporarily fixes the stuck audio playback volume.

Not sure. I had a Passat with wired CarPlay and never really had any issue with volume control

I sometimes get stuck where I can only decrease the volume. Muting by hitting the power button and then unmuting has worked to restore the ability to increase volume.
