My id.4 has this weird prism, how do i change that? Can i even?

I saw a few that had the VW icon.

If you trade it in on an Audi Q4, you will likely get four rings ;-) Kidding aside, yeah, I don’t get what the diamond shape means... think they missed a chance for a VW logo or something cute like the outline of an old beetle

I believe that SAzmon is mistaken - the image is actually projected from the side view mirrors. Maybe the Pro is different, but that's the way my FE is confirgured.

It projects beneath the rear doors as well..

Not on my FE. There's only a handle light on my rear doors.

Yup on both my FE and Pro/S….4 diamonds projected on the ground….on both the driver and passenger side (comes from under the mirrors)….

I don't have my ProS yet, so I've stayed quiet, but I saw a friend's Audi the other night and it projected "Quattro" on the ground beneath the front doors. I assume this is the same mechanism. I would think it is definable somehow, but I would bet the manufacturer would not like to make it easy for us to change the image projected.

Lesser cars feature a "puddle lamp." The ID. 4 projects an actual puddle.

No, the mirrors on the Pro are completely different. They don't power fold and they don't project anything, anywhere

unless the doors cannot be locked from a distance wouldn’t the puddle lights work as designed?

the thread below has additional info on the puddle light including photos and part number.

I think it's to replicate the parallelogram motif of the ID4.

Maybe the idea is to give you light as you approach? The car can be configured to unlock as you approach.

I've heard its the diamonds that are in the car's headlights/tail light areas. Which makes a bit of sense, but idk why they wouldn't want something that's more obvious like the VW logo or the ID logo that's etched into the front seats
