I ordered mine from Maple VW on June 29, but the order was only sent in to VW and given a COM number about a week ago or less. Ordered a Dusk Blue in AWD, no statement pkg. Was number 18 in the order list, but that list includes people that requested later US models, whereas I specifically requested a Germany built model.

I got to test drive a RWD statement model yesterday and it was a nice drive and I was very happy with it, unfortunately I didn't get much time with it and I was in rush hour traffic so I didn't get a full experience per say, but impressed with how quiet and comfortable it was and the acceleration.

My sales rep and the manager have told me to expect delivery in January-February, but that they really only know when the car will be here once it's on ship lol nobody really knows there allotment entitlement so who knows who will actually get their orders fulfilled or if they're taking order and banking that others will walk away?

I also got the opportunity to talk to the ID rep from VW and he told me that it could even be closer to spring by the time I get mine due the semi conductor shortages....for anyone in Victoria, ask where you stand in the order list because I heard that they took on way too many pre orders.

Also, they should have a level 2 charger available for sale by the time they officially bring them into dealerships and start officially selling the ID4

I think in Vancouver they only called people for test drives who reserved w/ deposit.

I was also looking at Audi Q4, but it’s pricey and no rebates. Same w/ Tesla Y.

VW ID4 is good value right now (prices should come down when they start producing it in US & as competition ramps up). And I think ID4 is a better set up than Ariya, as ID4 is RWD (even the AWD is RWD biased, making it a very planted but nimble ride - the front wheels are free to steer while the rear provides power). Ioniq 5 has decent specs and faster DC charging, but I prefer size/shape of ID4.

Intruiged to see what the Toyota/Subaru EV BZ4X will be next year. That might be a decent competitor to the ID4 if it qualifies for rebates.

I'm in Ontario, I was told that only those that put a deposit were invited for test drives. And even then they were booked solid.

I'm curious as to whether it'll actually be cheaper when it comes to the US, or if they plan to have a smaller battery option like Tesla does, and sell that at a cheaper price.

I'm also concerned about the rebates expiring or getting tossed in this upcoming election...

I ordered in July, and am expecting to see it in Jan-Feb. I really hope I get it in time before the expiry.

I am curious to see what each party is thinking with regards to EV rebates, if any.

I checked the Electrify Canada website. The network is non existent. I live in the centre of Toronto and I see only 2 charging stations and they are way out in the burbs. Useless.

SOME[/B] of their criticism about the infotainment isn't wrong. But they kinda missed the point of the car.

In the US media release about the AWD, they said that when in Sport mode, it will engage both motors, and when in traction mode, it will engage both motors up to 15mph

Did you try calling your dealer to specifically ask for a status update on the production of your vehice?

I emailed mine last week and was informed that there is no update to my file, just that the order was confirmed and locked in with the factory on July 5. I was told not to expect it til January-February. I'm in Ontario and ordered an AWD non statement.

I can see them calling me later and telling me that a statement is available if I want to upgrade and pay more or keep waiting. But that just might be iny head lol

Got my VIN for my AWD! Not gloating, just informing. (Well, I'm also happy - but, I think that's allowed).

You guys were making me antsy so I called my guy today and confirmed that my order is still good to go and being processed, just not in production yet. I've got a comm number and because I'm in Ontario, and ordered in July, I can expect to see it in February...I was worried I wasn't within the allotment but all is good!

The quote/contract was more of a formality/placeholder.

I know it will change a bit at final sale after accessories, etc.

Someone in the US on this forum posted this link to floor mats a couple months ago. they seem good quality and less expensive then mats offered by dealership. I might go with these… they ship to Canada:

Weathertech is a Canadian company with their head office out of Burlington, Ontario.

They make great mats. I currently have them, but they're quite rigid. I've heard of another company that goes up higher on the floor. They're on Amazon. I think they're called Tuxedo

Has anybody in Ontario either taken delivery or been advised of a delivery date? If so, what model and where?
I am faced with continued radio silence from my dealer.

Still waiting. Was told that there is still no change, just a comm number and to expect delivery around end of January-February.

I don't suspect that it'll get a vin or go into production until after the holidays.

I ordered in July.

Just in the process of re organizing the garage and narrowed down my evse choice in the meantime.

As long as I get it before the federal rebate expires, I'll be happy. I don't mind getting it at the tail end of the winter season .

The Mid grade Q4 is 65k. It's still 11k less than a Model Y though. But yah, the ID4 AWD statement after rebate for 53k seems to be a great deal. Even the BMW i4 RWD starts in the mid 50s so that's another option. So many delays with all of these vehicles. VW telling me the wait might be 12 months is not good.

ID4 AWD with statement is closer to 62k in Ontario. I'm at 54k with AWD/no statement with rebate and taxes and fees included

I was comparing apples to apples. ie without taxes included. So add the taxes to the 76.3k on the Model Y if you'd like. that's 87.7k Model Y. 62k vs 87.7k.

Oh sorry I thought you were trying to compare a base Q4 to a loaded ID4 to see which one would be better since you'd be able to get a Q4 sooner.

I've RS and GT Etrons at dealerships and on the road if that's in your budget

I think you'll be SOL on test driving anything anytime soon, unless you take a drive down to the States where dealerships have them on lots.

well this is an interesting turn of events. The Ontario Liberal gov't said they will introduce an 8k dollar EV rebate if they are elected this spring. I wonder if the conservatives will respond.

I'm sure they will, but I doubt it'll roll out before 2023. I won't hold my breath. Federal liberals could choose to stop the rebate after it expires this coming March.


I'm more curious if anyone has/will get calls to upgrade/downgrade their order if someone walks from there order.

Me too! I think we're in the same boat and ordered at the same time. I'm just happy I managed to get my hands on a 50 amp breaker! There's a shortage apparently.
