I did everything on line and never visited the dealership. They send me an email with a link to the vw portal "view my deal". So you may want to get more information from the dealership on how to access the portal.

You will not get a bill of sale until the car is delivered,

Did the dealership give an estimate wait time?
18-24 months is the official estimate but one of the people I talked to said he feels it could be 12 months or a little less. I don't think anyone at that level knows anything beyond speculation.

Ok. The email from the dealership with "view my deal" went to junk folder. It takes my to the same as the reservation page. It says "Your custom built has been locked" "Deposit placed".
Is that what everyone's show? Is that status supposed to change when there is any development on the order?

The Canadian version of the portal can be considered a work in progress and does not have the same functionality as the American version. Sometime in the future you may be able to track the status of your order.

My understanding is that the dealer will contact you when your reservation is getting close to manufacturing to confirm the details of the order and that you do not want any changes.

I found this 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 on AutoTrader: 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro AWD - Laval

Looks like more 22s are popping up on Autotrader. This one looks to have a couple caution lights on if I'm not mistaken? Maybe some current owners can chime in. Pretty bad range estimate for 227km @83%.

So I glanced at the auto trader ID4s nationwide... and I'd have to say the prices are laughable and sad at the same time. Douchebags in Que have bought the car, received a ton of rebates 13k? and now they are trying to resell at 10-15k more than MRSP? and😢 and🤯 and mostly🖕🖕 to those sellers...

Especially frustrating when you figure they were beneficiaries of being priority over other provinces (aside from BC) because of their mandated EV quotas.

It makes me wonder if there's a restriction on selling the car to anybody outside their province. I'd also say, it's a shame the province doesn't step in a force these people to repay their rebate if they resell their cars within a certain time period. Something to keep people from doing this sort of thing. But Suppose in the end, nobody will buy these and after the end of year I'd expect VW to finally ramp up dramatically deliveries to Canada.

The BC rebate has to be returned to the BC Government if the car is sold within a year of purchase.

As long as there's a shortage and people willing to pay a premium this will happen. Quite a few people have sold their ID.4 in the US for what they paid or more. Recent gas prices have had a serious impact on demand for EVs, if you drive a lot the savings can be substantial. I wouldn't call the douchebags, they are taking advantage of the market conditions just as everyone else does in other markets.

Before doing your Quebec bashing, I would suggest that you do your homework properly. Just follow this link : 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 Only '22 ID.4 Pro with Statement Pkg. in Ontario! - Woodbridge
Can you tell me in which province this ID 4 for sale is located and for how much more. And for your info, the person that sells his subsidized EV before the end of one year of ownership must refund the provincial subsidy that he received. I can't tell you if the same apply for the federal subsidy.

And it's not just ID4's, though EV's obviously are in high demand. So are hybrids, or even a lot of cars in general. Search for prices on Toyota Siennas (2021+ hybrid ones), it's equally "entertaining". The used prices have started to fall in the US (though still way too high), things will eventually settle in Canada too. I don't blame the sellers or the buyers, no one is forcing anybody to do anything here. Yes it sucks to wait, but I don't like paying more than MSRP. That's my choice, others have other priorities, and thus some will make money and some will spend (more of) theirs.

I would say the problem is supply to Canada not excessive demand. And things are changing rapidly in the auto industry. Add another 1% onto the Bank of Canada rate by Feb and let’s see where things are.

It’s no fun bashing fellow Ontarians. Que is always a good target though except for the Habs. ;)
I bet all of the douchebags selling now waited exactly 1 yr to bail and maximize profits if that’s the threshold.

I can’t see any of these selling. Maybe I’ll start calling these guys. Pull a Cary Grant.

Anyone that's purchased their Canadian ID, did you get any of the extended warranty or maintenance plans? I've been spoken to about what the options are and I can't justify any reason to get them. Figured worst case, could always get extended warranty later on..any tips @Perry Rhodan or @stephen.kormilo ?

Anything in particular you may have missed during your PDI to look out for?

When the time comes I was going to to do the math on the prepaid maintenance package to see if it made sense financially. I had a look at the recommended maintenance schedule and there is not much to it, visual inspections, occasional brake fluid changes and cabin filters. If the price was reasonable I may purchase just so that I don't have to debate with the service writer what service work needs to be done.

I decided to buy a 4y Prepaid maintenance plan for $559. I figure that any visit would cost at least $100 plus the cost of 2 brake fluid flushes and cabin filters would easily exceed the cost of the plan. Not to mention that there would be no question of a warranty claim being denied due to lack of maintenance.
No extended warranty.
So far I haven't detected anything that was missed by my dealer's PDI.

Only got the wheels coverage for 5 years, in our household we are known to scratch rims without assigning blame to anyone. It's already paid for a flat repair and indeed we have the rear passenger side rim that will need to work done eventually.

Did even entertain the prepaid service, the 15k service was $75 which coming from a Benz is insanely cheap.

Here's a breakdown of the unavoidable charges. PDI includes wheel locks and rubber mats,

Did you get a spare? The tire tax should have been $20 for 4 tires. Get a refund from your dealer, $5.60 including the tax = a decent beer. :p

No spare, they probably have this as a standard due to some vehicles having a spare. Driving to dealership, talking to them about getting a $5 refund, diving back home... It's not worth the $5... lol
