Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't follow USA politics that closely but I was under the impression Biden didn't so much cancel EV rebates as change them. EVs rebates were now based on where materials were sourced. ie if the battery materials were minded and the cells produced in the USA EVs were still eligible for a rebate. I assume the intent is to bring more manufacturing to the USA and stop importing. Is this not correct? If so, I would guess Teslas would still receive EV rebates in the USA as their packs are all made in the USA???

I received same email asking me to log in and build my ID4. Dealer phoned me as well right after saying he can see my built vehicle through his portal

Interesting. I would assume that all the "approved" ID.4 dealers in PQ, ON, and BC would be using the same, or at least similar process to catch up on the backlogged orders.
And that that would happen before the VolksKlick process goes live for new orders. I think
But who knows with the way this whole thing has unfolded ...

Also, apparently all ID.4s built until the end of this year will include the optional Heat Pump, so if you order one without a Heat Pump, your build will not start until Q1 2023.

Went by my dealer this morning and talked specifically about the email that came out. He has a list of everyone's car builds that potential buyers sent to him in the last few months. These are NEW customers and not ones that have orders from early 2022 or even 2021 (these get absolute priority). He said that his assistant and him are inputting/building cars online for those folks that didn't bother going through the new VW email to do so based on what info he collected previously. These people will also get additional emails afterwards from VW to lock in etc when its time. At that point he is hands off. I asked about the heat pump inclusion, and he said he hasn't heard anything about that and we are to assume that its going to be an extra and budget as such. Regarding the pump, basically worst case scenario is what he said to assume. Anything otherwise is a bonus.

I also inquired about what colors/packages people were mostly ordering. He said almost 60% of orders are the full meal deal with roof, pump, electra wheels, AWD Pro, statement. For colors he actually ran some numbers yesterday and said:

1. Pure Grey
2. Tourmanline Blue
3. Onyx White

all other colors about the same

They already knew about it. PlantPeon said it multiple times indirectly to be prepared for omissions. He even shared a article which pointed to which components are in shortage not specifically for ID4 but for other models and as far as I remember 360camera was one of them but no one cared as it was not part of 2022 at that time.

Without 360 Cam, Folding mirrors, and stereo upgrade, the MY23 is essentially a MY22 for 4k more. For now.

VW Richmond BC at the auto mall has a used 2021 with statement package being sold for 83k. The price is besides the point - it's the first time we had a good look at the sizing and panoramic sunroof. Car is in the middle of the showroom so you probably need an appointment if you want a test drive. I didn't bother as I already test drove Audi q4

The roof is somewhat lower than I expected, with less headroom than I expected, but the family loved the sunroof. Was going to skip but might get it now.

I've dealt with this dealership in the past. I won't get into reasons why, but I will never set foot on their lot again. Good luck 🤞

@canopystudio - Call the dealer that you are putting the order through, in this case Pickering VW. Hopefully they can answer some of your concerns above

Pickering ? wow guys you all are near me anyway Pickering is the worst with admin fee. Richmond hill is lowest. Town and county dont have any admin fee but still charged around 350 or so in the invoice (pre online)
