Looks like we have 4 ships arriving in Halifax over the next 60 days. The Goodwood seems like it would be the most likely ship to arrive on time for September deliveries. The SIEM Confucius is scheduled for early September which would delay deliveries till late September to early October for west coast buyers.

Placed my factory order at the start of July for a Moonstone Grey RWD Pro w/ Statement Pkg and Lunar Grey interior at Clarkdale (aka Vancouver Volkswagen). We’ll see if the claimed Sept/Oct delivery will happen 🤞. Dealer told me the first batch of orders have not been submitted yet, but mine will be in the first group of ID.4s delivered to Vancouver.

During our test drive this morning the Sales Rep mentioned they have received the vin numbers for the vehicles on order and orders are locked in. Was not able to get a production date and the VW Canada Rep mentioned we’re looking at October for delivery.

Hoping they still get here in September.

Test drive was great by the way. We’re definitively getting the ID.4!

Just wrapped up my test drive and heard the same re: October delivery for RWD 🤞… didn’t hear that orders are locked in though, that’s promising!

Really happy with the interior quality (except the piano black trim which I’ll definitely be getting wrapped) and the peppy driving dynamics!!

Definitely feeling good with my decision to lock in a factory order.

I got some good news today about my ID.4 AWD. My dealer texted the following this morning:

"Your ID4 is frozen to changes July 28, 2021 the new eta to be completed production Sept 17,2021 next step. The vin number will be issued soon!!"

I've seen the delivery timeframe but I don't recall, so I need to check this forum about the time between production and delivery.

That does align with what they told me today, orders are locked and production is scheduled. That also means the rep quoting deliveries for October is quite likely accurate.

The ships sailing to Halifax seem to make their return voyages in ~60 days (including all delays) based on the 2 most recent export schedules I've seen. The SIEM Aristotle is likely to arrive in Emden mid Sept reaching Halifax end of September. Rail to YVR depot and transport to dealership and we're quite likely mid October for delivery. The Bishu Highway is another possibility but that may be too tight for scheduling.

I ordered mine from Maple VW on June 29, but the order was only sent in to VW and given a COM number about a week ago or less. Ordered a Dusk Blue in AWD, no statement pkg. Was number 18 in the order list, but that list includes people that requested later US models, whereas I specifically requested a Germany built model.

I got to test drive a RWD statement model yesterday and it was a nice drive and I was very happy with it, unfortunately I didn't get much time with it and I was in rush hour traffic so I didn't get a full experience per say, but impressed with how quiet and comfortable it was and the acceleration.

My sales rep and the manager have told me to expect delivery in January-February, but that they really only know when the car will be here once it's on ship lol nobody really knows there allotment entitlement so who knows who will actually get their orders fulfilled or if they're taking order and banking that others will walk away?

I also got the opportunity to talk to the ID rep from VW and he told me that it could even be closer to spring by the time I get mine due the semi conductor shortages....for anyone in Victoria, ask where you stand in the order list because I heard that they took on way too many pre orders.

Also, they should have a level 2 charger available for sale by the time they officially bring them into dealerships and start officially selling the ID4

Hope that helps

Enjoy the pics of my mk2 next to it's replacement

I got some info on Canadian orders. Apparently, Canada will get approx 2,600 ID4 from Germany (majority of these orders will likely be AWD).

Only 3 provinces get ID4 right now (BC, Quebec, Ontario).

BC is allocated approx 25% (approx 650 vehicles). 10 dealerships in BC selling ID4. Some dealerships will get more allocations than others. Not sure how that works. But if you’re interested in a Made in Germany ID4, book it soon!

The SIEM Aristotle just left Halifax after a 10 hour stop. Draught dropped from 8.4m to 8.3m what ever that means in terms of number of unloaded vehicles.

Next we have the Goodwood scheduled to arrive in Halifax August 16th. If some Canadian bound ID.4 have been built in late July as I’ve seen mention elsewhere that could be the ship they are on.

I wonder if those 24 are extra stock they ordered. I’m curious to find out which dealership sells the most ID4 from this first round of orders. Clarkdale VW thinks it will win as it sold the most eGolfs (or so they say). But I think Capilano VW & Openroad VW might be contenders.

I never got called for a test drive here in Toronto. I guess it was for people with deposits only. Also, I'm just interested in the AWD version so maybe they figured no point in calling me.

That old MK2 was the best looking Golf. Awesome!! I loved the old Lancia Integrale too.

All of these EVs are being delayed. Ioniq 5 is delayed, Ariya even having a longer delay. I did notice Audi putting the price of the Q4 on their website. Starting at 60k, progressive is 65.3k, Techniq is 68.3k. No Fed rebate.

BMW i4 40 starts at 55k which I thought was quite aggressively priced. The premium package is 7900 bucks so you really are looking at 63k.

I'm thinking of leasing for the first time in my life and I noticed the VW lease for a ID4 AWD with statement is the same lease price as a Tesla 3 AWD. the VW is 53k after the rebate and the Model 3 is 72k. Does anybody else find the lease deal really expensive relative to it's price??

I think in Vancouver they only called people for test drives who reserved w/ deposit.

I was also looking at Audi Q4, but it’s pricey and no rebates. Same w/ Tesla Y.

VW ID4 is good value right now (prices should come down when they start producing it in US & as competition ramps up). And I think ID4 is a better set up than Ariya, as ID4 is RWD (even the AWD is RWD biased, making it a very planted but nimble ride - the front wheels are free to steer while the rear provides power). Ioniq 5 has decent specs and faster DC charging, but I prefer size/shape of ID4.

Intruiged to see what the Toyota/Subaru EV BZ4X will be next year. That might be a decent competitor to the ID4 if it qualifies for rebates.

I'm in Ontario, I was told that only those that put a deposit were invited for test drives. And even then they were booked solid.

I'm curious as to whether it'll actually be cheaper when it comes to the US, or if they plan to have a smaller battery option like Tesla does, and sell that at a cheaper price.

The Goodwood just left Halifax dropping from 8.9m to 8.6m. Not likely we’ll see see deliveries from that one.

Next is the Siem Confucius on it’s way to Emden and scheduled to arrive in Halifax Sept 3rd. 🤞

I’m not convinced msrp will go down once it’s produced in the US. Instead I think we’ll see additional equipment like perhaps HUD being added to the base model whit similar pricing to what we see now.
