I ended up sticking with the RWD since I wanted the extra range + was originally told RWD was going to be delivered first - everything else: colour, trim was changed several times (went from a red order, to a blue in september, to delivery in moonstone). Definitely glad I went up to the Pro S though.
The Statement package is worth it imo. Moonstone looks very slick, I had originally ordered the RWD in silver and ended up with a AWD in Moonstone. No regrets whatsoever.

Finally picked up my ID.4 :) - order date was late July/Early August

My vehicle was one of the ones held on a stop order in Halifax for the parts issue. Landed in early January - so folks' estimates of about 6 weeks seemed about right.

After all the waiting i do have to say - absolutely worth it so far
Nice... did you get 21 or 22 model?

When were you notified you'd be receiving your car? I ordered at a similar time, mid-August in Kamloops BC, chatted with the dealer earlier this week but they had no update. We ordered an AWD with the statement package.

Thanks

I actually had to reach out to them, in response to a marketing email encouraging me to reserve my 2022 Id.4 .

Apparently it had come in that day, but umm, read into that what you will.

Apparently they got a whole wack of them and are slowly working through delivery - I'd call your dealer for an update.

Also it was delivered as a 21 (to previous comment)

From the message I got from my contact at VW head office, they are going to fulfill all of the remaining orders as 2022 models and anything ordered now will be 2023 models from the US. He said there will be a new system of ordering coming very soon. I posted his massage just a couple days ago in this thread.

Interesting, was the marketing email from the dealer or VW Canada?
Why would they send an email asking you to reserve your ID4 when you had already placed a deposit?

I think you may have lucked out and received a cancelled order that matched yours. Congratulations! I think the rest of us July/ August reservations may be waiting into late summer to fall.

Going to get worse before it gets better. Even price increases.

The base price will likely stay the same for the federal rebate, unless that deal changes (coming from my rep). I’d be surprised if we don’t see a bump on the Statement package, though.

A bump! IMHO the statement package is too much, there just isn't enough value in a single $8000 package, plastic (leatherette) upholstery ?... Really?
VW cloth seating has been my go to for 20 plus years, and I've never worn through any, in over 400,000 km just on my 2005 Passat alone; my '14 jetta has 220,000 km and seats still look new. I had leather in an AUDI, but it never lasted and I personally never liked the feel of extreme cold or hot leather seats. I would've opted for the statement if it was real leather, but massaging seats (which seem to just be a moveable lumbar support as far as I've heard, a glass roof that doesn't open, and squeaks in the winter, extra light colours... A bigger screen might be nice, but reviewers have been happy with the 10" one so far.
I do admit the foot actuated tailgate would be nice, but not for $8K.

Perhaps a select couple of options that are more popular, I don't understand the marketing , a large part of the subsidies are basically cancelled out by the statement package price, but I will still wait for my non statement to eventually show up, hopefully before next summer (2023).

The only leather seated EVs I’ve seen so far have been the E Tron 55 and the I Pace. I think this is perhaps a trend to appease vegan-leaning younger buyers somehow. For us, the big pluses on the Statement model were the electric seats with memory when there are two drivers, and the projector cornering LEDs. I like the cloth seats but it is a big bump in price, to be sure.

Welcome to the site.

For me the Statement package was well worth it. The headlights are light years ahead and in the usual winter gloomy weather around here they are awesome. Memory seat were a must as we both drive the car daily and other things like folding mirrors, folding back seat with passthrough and power tailgate are great to have. And the variable cargo floor is very convenient to keep the cargo space free of clutter.

I tried it a few days ago; it found 2 AWD Pro Statement vehicles in my area (Montreal), but not the color I want (Dusk Blue). Now those 2 vehicles are both gone, so I guess the system is working. I'll keep looking in case something comes in before my actual reservation (reserved in August 2021, is supposed to come in June-July 2022 but who knows with everything going on...)

I assume all ID.4s appearing on VolksKlick for the foreseeable future will be customer refusals.

I agree with you but it may depend on different people, I can just tell on my behalf and according to my linking. Others have their own opinion and I respect theirs.

Personally I love sunroof and Headlights everything else is just waste, I would go for that for few thousand extra, too bad its not available separately.

What I hate about non statement package model is, seat color. I think once I get it, I will order custom seat covers for sure. I do not like that color much. I like color of leatherette surface in S package.

This is what I dont like about S package,
  • I hate larger wheels, they are heavy, cuts into range, even worse with winter tires. Also replacements are more expensive and these heavy EVs eat them real fast.
  • Leatherette surfaces did not feel good, also synthetic leather with massage option will tear it apart in no time, not a fan.
  • Message function is just lumber support moving, nothing fancy
  • Brown two tone dash is controversial choice, I personally hate it, it seems out of place.
  • That silver rail color do not go well with many color options, if I had gone with S package, first thing on my list was to cover it up with vinyl wrap, which is extra $
  • Who cares about extra interior lighting colors.
  • Why would I pay VW extra $ to advertise their EV more by illuminating their logo, they can do it standard for free?
  • I dont care about variable floors.
  • Few others are not even worth mentioning
  • Smaller 10" screen, did not feel much different when I compared 2 models side by side

By the way that 8k extra in statement package makes it 58k and audi e4 is 59k with sunroof, leather seating, awd, same battery, range and 2k extra for adaptive cruise control. I think I would like to spend that extra money and get Audi not VW.

The Audi does not qualify for EV rebates, that’s at least $5k for federal and whatever your province provides. And the base model lack many features found in the ID.4, you would need to add the technik package ($8400) to get headlights, memory seat and acc. So it’s more like $71k versus $58k not including rebates. In BC that’s over $20k not factoring in the taxes.

I agree it does not qualify for rebate but in Ontario its just 5k, I dont care about memory seat as I will be driving it, headlights are good but I will not add it at 8.4k. ACC is just 750$ no technik needed. So for Ontario its 53 vs 60. Not a huge difference for Audi vs VW. without statement its 45 vs 60. which is huge. If you order ID4 today, delivery date is 15-24 months and god knows they may even remove rebate or increase/decrease or add more vehicles to it (they are already talking about increasing limit for suvs and pickups, if they do it, it will include a lot of other cars)

If they are giving me rebate like BC or QC, I may think about statement package but for Ontario its a bit too expensive. Again, it goes to everyone's personal choice, liking and financial condition.
