It Can not be MY22 as even in Germany they are switching to MY23 from production week 35 or something that is end of Aug I guess

I think so too, some people also received emails from their dealership mentioning the same.
But if they want they can still match same configuration, except interior color.

For those people that you know received emails were they promised MY22? I talked to dealer today and he has no clue, only told me there's a meeting with VWC for all the GMs today.

It would make sense anything after end of Aug come from Chattanooga and MY23. If you look at the PWL shipping schedule at the bottom there's a note that says BAF (some shipping surcharge) increase 25% in german, so it makes even less sense if there's a huge backlog in Europe.

Yesterday around 10pm, I received a general email from VW Canada saying first look at ID4 2023 with some general details and pics, pointing to VW.ca website with ID4 specs

Yes, on mine it says priority will be given to those who are already awaiting id4 deliveries

I think it means everyone who are waiting for ID4 deliveries but orders are not scheduled for production, will have to re-order using VolksKlick and will have chance to update their package.

but under features for base model it shows, which seems like new US seat description

Can @Plant Peon confirm if Canada is going to get different base seats than US base seats for 2023? I loved how Stone seats look on US models but no option in Canada

no galaxy black leatherette is really odd. And what is the platinum grey leatherette and X-Blue? Are these totally new interior colours? Does the US get these interiors?

I expect they will tell the dealers first and giving them a week to order online for their clients who've already ordered before it goes public. So expect Canadian production to start at the end of Aug, beginning of Sept, people who have orders get to reorder in late Aug/Sept and the online public ordering goes online at the start of Oct.

It shouldn't. It's the non-mandatory parts that are the hold-up. For example, my GTX is stuck because now there's an issue with 360' cameras and racecar seats (source another member here who got info from his VW rep). Models without those will take over for the time being.

In the spring it was LED Matrix lights, towing hook and electric trunk.

Who knows what they are lacking now, but it's not batteries.

I think there are three possibilities.
1) They already declared that first priority will be given to those who already have orders in place, if they are allowed to change their configuration then no, it will not speed up the process as many people may change their orders to smaller battery.
2) Normally base models are least produced as they make least money, so VW will make more profitable models first and will not produce enough small battery vehicles and it may in fact make wait times even longer for smaller battery models. i.e. currently VW makes least money with AWD Pro, so wait is longest with that.
3) If those whose orders are already in are not allowed to change config, then bigger battery models will have line up already but no line up with small battery model, in that case it can be delivered faster.

When did you order? I ordered almost a year ago (end of August 2021) but didn't receive an email. I'm wondering if perhaps I'm still getting a 2022 from Europe vs a 2023 from the USA ?

I think I received it as I also signed up for 2023 updates on VW.ca

I ordered mid-end Feb 2022 about a week before they stopped taking orders, so mine has extremely high chances of being 2023.
If you read my next post, I have attached a screenshot which says those who are already waiting for id4 will be given first preference to order 2023, it means either we will have to re order or will be called in to confirm new changes.

so the 2023 ID4 AWD top trim is now 52,995 + 5000 statement package + 1k 20" alloy wheels + 1500 heat pump + 1250 pano roof + 495 for the silver trim and black roof = 62,240 vs 58k for the 2021.

So for $4245 extra you get the following.
heated mirrors? not sure the 2021 had this.
3 zone climate control
rear heated seats
better stereo?
light rear badge and LED rear lights
Massage front seats
360 camera.

I wouldn’t order the silver trim/black roof for 495. Im hoping the online ordering means no BS 500 dollars admin fee. So I’m paying a sales person to not negotiate and take my money? LOL no thank you.
