He has so much in common with bad breakup stories.
Its like your GF dumped you because you could not commit for so long(waited 10 months and no order), you are now engaged to someone else (Ordered BMW X1) and wedding date is fixed (Delivery date) but you cant get over your Ex. You still check with your common friends on what she is up to, what are her future plans (Checking with HQ Friends), go through her social media everyday (Posting on sites like this) and say how bad is she (ID4) and how good is your wife to be (BMW X1), what other girls may be better than her (Audi Q4). :ROFLMAO:
Wow. You are really invested in the ID4 aren’t you? You bashed the Q4, and went on and on about how bad Kias and Hyundais are. You take things so personally and act like there’s no other options. Guy, It’s just a car. Loosen your tighty whities.

YES there are a lot of good alternatives to the ID4. Get over it. And yes, I’m just trying to give people on here reasonable information/timelines and not give them wild speculation.

Check you last posts, each and every post says the same repeated story again and again.

I never said I hate Q4, I Infact like interior more in Q4. But bottom line is it's 20k more for my required features which are base in ID4, how is it bashing? Give it to me for same price as ID4 and I will go with Q4. I personally don't like Hyundai but show me how many posts I have bashed it? May be 2-3, that too not towards the car, towards the brand. It has better performance than ID4 but is more expensive as well. I went for it's test drive as well, which did not happen and after checking it off my list I have never even visited it's forum once and look at you. If I said I don't like it, I said it on ID4 forum not on Ionic to get out my frustration. For KIA, I have stated, I want SUV else I would have gone for EV6 which looks like wagon else it bay be a good option.

I have not paid for ID4, my final decision will on the day of delivery. Check my other posts where I have made fun of ID4 software disasters and VW communication. I have already said I will never get Id4 to lease. By the time I get my car and if I find something which fits my budget, requirements and price I can go for that but today it's the only car which fits my needs.

Are you like this in other forums of cars you don't intend to buy? #badbreakup

A lot of valid points are lost in the quantity of posts which is not helpful to peeps looking for information. Yes there’s options out there and yes people should be aware. Yes the ID.4 has issues, find me any brand model that doesn’t. Yes some other brands models are more expensive. It all goes down to personal preferences period.

Buy what you can afford and like and be happy. Arguing with strangers on the internet? We all know how that usually ends.

Feel free to stop personally attacking me.
Feel free to let others make their purchases without hating. It's their money to do with as they please, right? You aren't buying an ID4 so you aren't on the playing field. This isnt a "personal attack", it's a request. Don't confuse the two. This is the internet, I never take things personal. It's unfortunate that you do. But if it makes you feel better, this will be my last post to acknowledge you now that I found the ignore option. ✌

Ok folks, this is now derailing an otherwise insightful 79 pages of commentary.

We welcome point/counterpoint discussion, as long as it is as factual as possible. Although we tend to more appreciate critical insight from those with 'skin in the game' by virtue of ID.4 ownership those without can certainly impart scholarly debate.

Please keep the discussion to the technicalities and away from personal digs, respectfully recognizing that we all have varying tolerance levels for same. And for gosh sakes, we would not expect this American-esque behavior from Canadians. ;)

How did they get in touch? And if it's email, was it from VW corporate or from Bramgate?
I went in without email. I had a issue going on with VW Canada which is now solved, when they called me to tell outcome of issue, they asked me to come in and I ordered.

As I Posted here, they started bookings from September 1. Currently they are also taking orders for new customers as well, in fact there were a couple of customers already there and they went out for Test drive once I came back.

Oh good lord...

So much for being hopeful that they were moving along in an orderly fashion. Something tells me those bookings Bramgate is taking now are just an internal waiting list.

New orders will be after original orders, they are still in orderly fashion, as they have to do it on their website and they update your info on your own profile not a new order. E.g. if they have 50 orders in place, new orders will start from #51 as they need to create new profile for new order

Mine seemed legit, they opened my profile on VWHub.ca and there it showed update to 2023 and they reconfigured everything. It even had my commission number there. Once things were finalized, they gave me a printout to go through and once I said all good, they checked confirmed and said no more changes as it can not be changed anymore unless VW releases something new like change to MY23. Even after that change my original order date is still from Feb but I got new Order sheet.

Only thing may be they updated details, so once VW gives go ahead, everything is in place

They said they are calling few customers every week to update their orders and I was not the first one to do it.

Spoke to the "ID4 specialist" at Myers VW in Ottawa today, and was told the following:

1) Orders will be taken as of October 3.
- This more or less matches what others are reporting, with the caveat that Oct. 3 may be the advance order date for those who expressed interest early, with general opening up for orders on Oct. 10.

2) Demo vehicles will reach lots only in November, maybe.
- Clever VW, clever. Why would anyone want to see what they buy in advance?

3) Canada and the US are getting different paint colours.
- I noted that the pictures (particularly of the new tourmaline blue) on the Canadian website don't match the US website (the blue is much darker), and was told that that was because Canada was getting different colours - the Canadian website is accurate.
- Not sure I'm convinced, since I understand others have been told the opposite. Hmmm.

4) Black roof package is only available with AWD and for those getting the panoramic roof as well, and will be produced in very limited quantities, so it'll delay getting your car. The dealer wasn't even sure if the package changed the colour of the black side panels around the edge of the windows to silver ("silver accents"), as was included last year in the statement package.
- The MY2023 PDF doesn't make any of this clear, and instead ties it to the statement package without mentioning the need for AWD. Anyone know what's correct? Is black for the side panels unavoidable this year?

5) Towing - dealer had no idea whether the RWD model could have a trailer hitch added after delivery (it appears to come with the AWD).
- So many mysteries!

6) Wait time 12-16 months for new orders, with an ~8500 order backlog at present for Canada.
- Is that credible with the new factory? Seems overly long, but perhaps only a trickle is coming to Canada.

7) I was strongly discouraged from changing my order once it's placed, but the dealer didn't categorically state that it couldn't be done.

I asked if they expected to get any further clarification or information before Oct 3, and was told no, not likely.

Anyway, I pass this along to the group here for what it's worth.

Thanks for the info. I had a lengthy chat with my dealer today and here is some info to you add to your points

1) - exactly what I was told
2) - didn't talk of demo vehicles, but my dealer has a 2022 White AWD Pro S and they aren't selling it. Strictly for test drives. I've driven it twice.
3) - exactly what I was told except that the US Arctic Blue is the same as the Canadian Ice Grey Metallic
4) - didn't talk about this
5) - didn't talk about this
6) - exactly same info - 12mths wait minimum is what he is setting expectations. Anything less will be a bonus
7) - yes. You change your order once placed and additional delays are on you.

I have a document from dealer which compares all models, same like what I shared for US models, I will try to scan and upload it tomorrow for everyone, but to answer some of your questions.

4) Black roof is available with AWD only and Statement package has to be added as well.
5) Towing hitch only available with AWD as standard
6) They have no idea about wait times but yeah they said may be 12-18 months for new orders. Things will get clear once orders start arriving at dealerships
7) Once you get your Commission number on your profile, you can not change your reservation as orders are already submitted and confirmed by VW. Same like once US orders are Locked they can't change anything.

So only folks that get the AWD will have an option to get the pano roof?

Let me change that number to 0%. I just reconfigured mine in Ontario.

Added Heat Pump and Glass roof
Just curious what package/trim you got since you were able to add the pano roof?

As per the sheet

Blacked out roof can be added to AWD models only, it also requires Statement package to be added

Pano roof can be added to either AWD or RWD, It does not show option for smaller battery Vehicle, also no need to add statement package.

I have ordered AWD without statement
