I found it. The facts are between 2012 and 2015 plug-in car(PEV) owners were surveyed in California and 20% said their next car would be ICE. You sure are loose with the facts so might just want to sit back and learn from this site and not spread rumors like this is Facebook or something.
Where? Show me that facts/video and stop yelling at your keyboard, Oscar the grouch.

You sound like you come from a part of Canada I have never visited, thankfully! 😂 Why so edgy and impatient and rude and crude?
And of course you are unable to site sources. 🤷‍♂️

We're in BC with a Subaru Forester and a Leaf, and looking to actually trade in/sell the Forester. The road trips we go on these days (WA, Whistler, Victoria, OR) I think we can abandon ICE completely.

Put a deposit down on Q4 last week, but will likely also put one down for ID4 when it opens up Oct 3
May be once I have it, spend some time with it, I may change my mind. Also as I said, Ontario is lacking with charging infrastructure, BC, QC are way ahead.
Things are changing and improving but not at the pace people are buying EVs

Slightly off topic but I have hardly seen 1 ID4 in GTA but seeing a lots of rares. Just today I saw 2 F150 Lightning and 3 Ioniq5s, I hope I story changes for ID4 soon.

The run from Vancouver to Whistler is apparently the "Green Corridor" as we have more EV infrastructure per liner mile than most any other places in Canada.
And Squamish (pop. ~19K), the mid point of the Van to Whistler run, has apparently more chargers than Medicine Hat, aka Gas City, Alberta (pop. 65K).
I have also seen more than a dozen different ID4s at the Electrify Canada station in Squamish since last November, not to mention innumerable Konas, Volts, and various hybrids.
All the Teslas, however, charge up at the 10 Superchargers behind the Boston Pizza ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't follow USA politics that closely but I was under the impression Biden didn't so much cancel EV rebates as change them. EVs rebates were now based on where materials were sourced. ie if the battery materials were minded and the cells produced in the USA EVs were still eligible for a rebate. I assume the intent is to bring more manufacturing to the USA and stop importing. Is this not correct? If so, I would guess Teslas would still receive EV rebates in the USA as their packs are all made in the USA???

Each OEM gets a total amount of rebate, and then they run out. So Tesla is done. As for pulling the tax rebate in the US, it's intent is 2 fold. Firstly to slow inflationary prices in the US. Crazy people are running around buying BEVs at 5-10k over MRSP down there. No need to stoke that fire. So why not slow the price appreciation while pushing manufacturers to source materials and build in NA? That's the 2nd intention. To secure more EV manufacturing in NA away from China. They know it's going to take time for this to happen and during that time inflation will be dragged under control. The Fed bank is now targeting the housing and auto industry by jacking up interest rates. This is going to end badly imo. As long as people keep supporting these crazy prices, the interest rates will keep going up.

First of all, unlike Canada US rebate works differently, instead of giving you upfront discount, in US you get it as tax benefit, so if you don't have enough income for any reason, then you are not qualified to get that rebate.

You are correct, it is not cancelled completely, it got shifted for made in USA EVs for local manufacturing push. As 2022 models are not made in US, they are not qualified for any tax benefit, only the ones received before the bill was singed are qualified

For 2023 ID4s scene is a bit complicated, according to the new bill, any EV assembled in US till Dec 31, 2022 will qualify for 7.5k tax rebate, so ID4 is qualified. But after that date, tax rebate splits into two, half for assembled in USA cars, for which 2023 model is still qualified but as Battery is not made in USA or in any countries with free trade agreement with US, it is not qualified. so 2023 models will get $3750 tax rebate. To get full rebate VW has signed deal with Canada to get materials from Canada and may be manufacture battery in Canada (I am not sure about manufacturing part) but this will take some time, until then ID4 will be qualified for only half rebate.

This is one of the reason, I fear Canada will still be ignored till 31 Dec 2022, as VW will try to prioritize US deliveries over Canadian so that maximum people can get benefit of tax rebate.

I am not too sure about Tesla, as far as I know US has rebate chunk divided between manufacturers and their models to be fair to all, Tesla has used all its rebate, so they are done. I am not sure, if they come up with a new model, will they be qualified for the rebate again or not

I also received that email today.
I placed an order in December 2021.
Does the letter apply to people who have already preordered at a dealer or new buyers?
Thanks.
Curious. I placed my order in November 2021 and received that email 3 weeks ago. Made the changes to MY2023 and received confirmation that it was changed on the dealers end, and the order "locked with the factory" a few days later.
The dealers may be making their way through the wait list of pre-orders in order by the original order date

Interesting. After receiving the letter did you just pick your dealer and ‘build and save’ or did you speak to the dealer as well.
