When I approach the car from driver side, it will unlock (I've enabled 'unlock on approach' option).
I briefly open the driver's door to make sure the car will remain unlocked indefinitely. (if you don't do this, it would lock itself after some time)
Now if I walk around to the passenger side it will suddenly lock itself and I won't be able to open any door. And if I stay there it will continue to try locking itself every second or so.
Walking back to driver's side will unlock...

It happens with both key fobs (tested separately).
It happens regardless of 'unlock on approach' setting.
I'm not touching the door handles while on passenger side.
The keyfob is in my hand and is definitely not being accidentally pressed.

It's a weird one.
Took me a while to work out when it happens exactly.

Anyone has seen such weird locking behaviour ?
Got video here

I turned that feature off. There's no reason for the car to unlock as you approach when it unlocks as soon as you touch the door handle on either side of the car.
Yeah by default it only unlocks the driver side. In the central locking section you can select all doors instead. This fixes that behavior
Thanks, but you've missed the point. It's not about unlocking. It's about locking that shouldn't happen.
I've added a video to the original post.

This is awesome! it’s possible to have walk away lock!!

how old or new is your vehicle? This is so cool. Do you think VW did an early push to repo? if you were in the US I’d have bought your car.
