This may have been determined but I am a new owner and couldn't find the answer in the forum.

If I use the Car-net app to turn on the A/C remotely, after I drive and turn off the car the A/C continues to run. I was told by a rep that if you use the Car-net app to turn on the A/C, you must use it again to turn it off - the A/C will continue to run even after you turn off the vehicle by exiting and locking. This seems crazy to me.

My question is: If I forget to turn off the A/C via the app, will it eventually time out or will it continue to run indefinitely. Does anyone have experience with this issue?

If turned on via Car-Net, the A/C will turn off automatically after 30 minutes.

If you turn on A/C via Car-Net, then power on the car, then exit and power off the car before 30 minutes has elapsed, the A/C will continue to run for the remainder of the 30 minutes. You can power off the A/C before the 30 minutes runs down either in Car-Net or through the “Goodbye” screen when exiting the car.

Thanks for this. The last part is what seems erratic. If I use Car-net to start the A/C, even when I power off the car the A/C sometimes continues to run and I then must use Car-Net to stop it. So it should not be doing this? I do live in a hot climate so is it possible some other function is running to cool the battery that sounds like the A/C? I guess I could power off and sit in the car and wait to see what happens.

If you use Car-Net to turn on A/C, then go for a drive, then get out, if 30 minutes has not elapsed since you turned on A/C in Car-Net, the A/C will continue to run until 30 minutes has elapsed, unless you turn it off either in Car-Net or by turning off “Immediate Climate” on the “Goodbye” screen.

It sounds like your car is behaving normally.

I’ve turned my A/C on in Car-Net, then gotten out after a drive and realized it was still on by hearing the A/C run. I just turn it off in Car-Net. If I remember that I used Car-Net when I’m getting out, I’ll turn it off using the “Goodbye” screen.

If you sit in the car after turning it off, it won’t turn off until you have gotten out of your seat. The only way to turn it off before the 30 minutes is up is through car-net or the goodbye screen. Easy to just turn it off from the goodbye screen and get out. It should turn off right away.
