I have a three (3) day old iD.4.
I have been trying to charge it on level 1, level 2, and DC Fast Charging

NO SUCCESS.

The best it will do, is 1 kw per hour. I believe this to be the Emergency Charging Schedule.
Electrify America has tried help.
VW of North America has tried to help.

Just dropped it off at the selling dealership.
Of course, no loaners, etc.

Any suggestions?

This is my fourth electric car, Ford Focus Electric, BMW i3, 2nd generation Nissan Leaf.
I had almost zero problems with the previous cars.
I have had more problems with the iD.4, than all of the others combined.
Almost purchased a Mach E, too tall.

Love the iD.4. It has exceeded my expectations.
A friend is pushing a new Model Y.

I would ask if you turned off the AC reduction option but even with that option on it's more than 1kwh per hour.

It might be a lemon.
Actually, it was off and set for 100%.

I was not aware of that option. Electrify America pointed that out to me.

I am hoping that this is just a software glitch.
I have seen other posts, where it took them weeks to fix similar problems.
I may have to rent a car next week.

I would agree
BMW has service down.
You pay for it, but they make it painless otherwise.

Did get an UBER ride home.
Have other cars.

I am hoping that this is just a software glitch.

Please wish me luck

Thanks for the reply

I had my ID4 for 4 days before alarms began to appear on the screen, then after just 230KM over 10 days the car was towed back to VW dealership.
They now have it now for 1 month awaiting parts.

Ouch, sorry about you situation.

There are some discussions, that the emergency release cable it the cause of the problem.
Rerouting the cable appears to fix it.

Good luck,

Mine had a similar error but the dealer replaced the EVSE without any further digging and send it out the next day. Now it's been at a second dealer for the past two weeks while they "research" the situation. We shall see...best of luck in your situation. I've found it pointless to offer any suggestions as to what the cause might be--they want/need to start from scratch.

VW say have not seen a similar fault.
Were waiting on a new electric drive.
Now waiting on a tool to fit it.

Thank you for the information. I now have a properly working iD.4. I found, that you have to push the charging cable in with enthusiasm. You can hear the pin engage. Yes, my 2018 Nissan Leaf, never faltered. I believe that the iD.4 problem can easily be rectified. Leave the locking as an option. My previous cars never locked their cables, unless selected. Never had a charging problem.

The passion is not the issue here. When I delete the timer option (delete not just disable) the car starts charging immediately.
Besides, there are now randomly many errors popping up in the drivers display - they come any go as they please ... Very frustrating!
