Of course it's not even a month before I have a chip on the car. Anyone buy a good touchup paint set for dusk blue?

Have you used those products before? How hard are they to use? I've never used paint pens. I'm decent at painting walls but cars are obviously not like walls 😂
I bought a 1/2 quart. from my local automotive paint dealer. Figured I would need some over time. There are many You Tube videos on touching up paint.

I have not used. That being said, they were highly recommended here on another thread.
If your Dusk Blue is a metallic paint there is no way to match it accurately. It will stick out like a sore thumb but a touch-up pen will protect the metal, at least.

I'm going to give Dr. Color Chip a shot and will report back with how it turns out.
You'll need to play with it to get the flakes to match best they can to your original metallic paint. The paint should look a certain way when you apply it in one direction and another way when you apply it a different direction.

VW has official paint pens if you want to order them. View attachment 3917

I got one too!! almost in the same spot but mine is bigger!! I didn't have mine a week! Got it June 10th.. I have my first check up appointment at the dealer in July, I was going to ask them about if they fix it..

The first chip is always the toughest to accept. The dealership may assist (although doubtful as "wear & tear"). Doesn't hurt to ask.

I too go with automotivetouchup.com as detailed above (I like the vial-brush but pen is good too).

Once there's a lot of tiny "road rash" DrColorchip.com is an easier process.

I have had the touch up kit on order from my local VW service department for 2 months - no sign of it yet.
btw: If you do end up doing your own touchup (likely; automotivetouchup arrives in about a week vs. waiting for VW ...) be sure to take your time and remember that all painting jobs are 90% preparation.

Make sure the area is clean of dirt and any prior wax/ceramic, etc. Use the primer if the chip is deep, but if only within the color layer go ahead with color. A couple/few very light and very patient applications is far better than a rushed blob. Leave a bit of depth for the final clear coat.

Also just accept that you're trying to improve the at-a-glance view and that nothing short of a pro respray will again make it whole. Just life in daily driver automotives. 🤷‍♂️
