I’ve noticed a couple times now that the climate control(ac) is running while the car is parked in the garage. I don’t have any scheduled departures set for preconditioning and intermediate climate control is off when I exit the vehicle. Any thoughts?

It might be set to use air conditioning on unlock, and also have unlock on approach? If the keys are close enough to the car, this might set it off.

Is it plugged into a charger? The AC will run during charging to protect the battery when its temp is > 85F.

No, not plugged in. Going to test bubbajet’s theory see if that’s the issue. Thanks for helping me noodle this!

I have a precondition shortcut on my Apple Watch; occasionally I’ve noticed that I accidentally touch that button and begin preconditioning inadvertently.

Of course, it's not difficult. As best as I recall:

1. Go into the CarNet app
2. Select Home
3. Select Siri Shortcuts
4. Choose which shortcuts you want to add to Siri
5. Configure your Apple Watch with the Precondition shortcut

Let me know if that works!

Wish we had something like that on Android. Having to log in twice then click start climate is unnecessarily annoying. Especially since starting the climate is the only thing the app can do.

Mine has to be in the 90s.
Noticed last night after the “cooling” fluid had come out so I guess it’s linked to the air conditioning.
My app let me know that air Climatization Started and let me know when it stopped. About 30 minutes. Is this normal?

This past weekend I used Carnet to pre-cool the car, then drove home which took less than 30 minutes. When we got out of the car I noticed the AC was still running and just turned it off with the Carnet app. I think there might be a bug (or very questionable feature) where pre-cooling is not canceled when you start driving and is still active after a short drive.

yeah, based on my experience, it is set to run for 30 minutes whether or not you are driving. Only way to stop it is turning it off on car-net.

I’m just trying to figure out if this process helps cool the battery pack.
