As long as your vehicle is equipped with the auto lifgate you can do the following: On the driver side door is a hatch open button. If you hold it after the hatch is open it will close the hatch. In the US at least you have to hold it for most of the duration of the close.

Just adding that the car has to be ON for this to work. You can open the hatch with the door button while the car is OFF but the car needs to be ON for you to be able to close it with the button at the driver's door.

great input thanks - does it work only during full moon or any moon phase? nothing surprises my anymore on this car. i think each line of code of this car's software was written by another person and they surely were not allowed to talk to each other.
