When I swipe, I get two different looks, but the Route Guidance not Activated remains.

Use the "right" button on the steering wheel to toggle between "route guidance" and "efficiency metrics"

When I swipe, I get two different looks, but the Route Guidance not Activated remains.
The Route Guidance not Activated message is the middle 1/3 of the Cockpit screen.

You should be able to tailor what is presented by using the steering wheel controls. If not, I suppose you will need to learn to live with it.
