Three questions from a UK ID 4 Max owner. Apologies in advance if these have been asked before...
1. The handbook talks of a convenient entry function where the electric front seat moves back when the door is opened to allow the less agile driver to get in. The handbook says
"You can switch the convenient entry function on and off in the Infotainment system." Anyone found where this is located?
2. I set the boot door so it didn't open fully. After banging my head on it I would like to restore the original full opening. Anyone know how to override the lower setting and go back to the original?
3. Finally I am confused with the various posting on websites as to whether or not the vehicle can have (or does not need) a data plug?

Many thanks

1) Nobody has found it! The Holy Grail
2) Changing and saving the opening angle

If the space behind or above the vehicle is not large enough to allow the trunk lid to open completely, you can change how far the trunk lid opens.
  • Interrupt the opening process at the desired open position. It must be at least half open.
  • Press and hold the
button in the trunk lid until the emergency flashers start flashing fig. 55.
The adjusted opening angle is saved.
There will be an audible signal and the emergency flashers will flash to indicate that the setting was saved.

I think the opposite of limiting opening can be saved in the same manner, i.e. pushing it open all the way and saving that setting.

For U.S. owners, there is a digital owner's manual here, you need to input your VIN.

BUT if you want to get the boot to open fully after setting a partial opening by the instructions in the handbook how do you do it? Boot will open to the level you have set and then stop. How do I get it to the fully open position and use that as the default?

1. We don't have this function in the USA so can't address.
2. Tinman's post addresses how to set an alternative height, which apparently you've already done. During the opening process you can just manually push the 'boot door' further up from your current lower set position and then again press & hold the button.
3. Not sure what you mean. OBDII access?

Note that you can always "reset to factory settings" in the Infotainment system if all else fails.
