Cruise control, ACC, travel assist errors

I turned on my car and there were errors saying the cruise control, ACC, and travel assist cannot be activated. This persisted for my whole 15-20 minute ride. When I got home I turned the car off and on again, still persisted. The features were all working up to 30 minutes before the errors. Any ideas what can be wrong?

Have you tried a factory reset in the infotainment system?
No, I will try tomorrow and report back.

The travel assist failure notice was leading into my (and a colleague‘s from GB) drive system failure warning. Hope you are not getting there...

What happened with your failure?
I've also had the ACC / Drive fault issue ! in the UK ....

I've had my ID.4 for a week now, on days 1 & 2 it threw up some intermittent ACC fault issues briefly. Then in day 4 it came on all morning, nothing seamed to clear it. A local dealer suggested where the sensors were, and advised cleaning the areas (below the front VW badge and the camera zone top of the windscreen), the ACC issue then vanished.

The on day 5 electrical drive fault message, it would go off, then come back on again! It was only when the car was left to "rest" for approx 30mins the message went. I called a local dealer, due to updating ID.3's with s/w 2.1 they were so busy, can't see the car until the 14th April ! But was advised to call the UK AA/VW Mobile Assist service (which is included in the purchase of the car for 3 years), they were unable to diagnose the issue - as they've not been issued with the update to their diagnostics that would allow them to read the "ID.4", the car is apparently "too new"!

The next day, all the faults had gone (but I had pictures to prove what had happened), now day 8 - no further errors. But after raising the issue with VW UK, they want the car to go into a dealer to "read the error log" and see if they can diagnose what might be happening, I'm waiting on VW UK to organise this. I suspect as MB has mentioned, they won't find anything.

A nice car, but somewhat let down by the software / faults ! :-(

Spoke too soon, thrown to drive fault error on drive 8 (again) ....
Yikes. All these errors are not bolstering my confidence in purchasing an id4.
Turned the car on this morning, no errors, hopefully just a minor glitch. Will update if things turn again.

Oh, where's your sense of adventure!? :)

I bought my Toyota RAV4 EV just under 8 years ago when owners were reporting complete drive system failures while driving 70 mph on the freeway. Driving along in the fast lane, everything is fine, then BOOM - lose all power and you have to get over to the side of the road fast because of the regen.

Eventually Tesla addressed the problem by changing the software to be more tolerant of the data from the motor speed sensor. We did have to file complaints with NHTSA to make that happen.

VW checked it. Fault log had 40 entries. Still couldn’t say what it was. Car has been fine since (fingers crossed). I just wanted to get it „in the books“.

I just experienced by first bout of Travel Assist failure. Started up the car and it said, Travel Assist, ACC and Front assist not available. Parked the car overnight. Errors went away in the morning. Then this afternoon, got the Travel assist and ACC error but not Front Assist... made an appointment with the dealer.

Scary to think Front Assist is pretty critical for safety.
I had my windshield replaced (car was delivered that way), and they had to recalibrate the front sensors/cameras. They found an error in one of the front cameras. Sure enough, yesterday the ACC and lane assist errored out and were unavailable, I noticed that happened after driving and sitting in the sun. After being parked for 20 minutes, it reset.

Parts are on order, but unavailable in the US.

May I ask if the dealership replaced your windshield? I have a crack in mine and they were no help at all. :(

Yes, the dealer was able to quickly source the windshield. The work was performed by a glass shop. It only took them a day or two to get the part.
We did a 300+ mile road trip yesterday and everything went great except we did encounter this "travel assist is currently not available" and same/similar message about ACC. No mention of front assist in our case. And indeed, ACC, cruise, and travel assist did not work.

The circumstances were we drove from Durham, NC to Charlotte, NC without problems. Did our activities (including the interactive Van Gogh exhibit which was wicked cool: Van Gogh Exhibit Charlotte: The Immersive Experience) charged up to 80% at the Charlotte EA (we were the only car there till a Mach E joined us), drove 1 mile to our dinner destination, then the problem occurred when we left from there. I had been driving so far in the trip, but when my wife started driving we got 3 orange splats on the steering column along with the messages about ACC and travel assist not being available. Tried rebooting the infotainment system without effect. Pulled over at a rest area and we all got out of the car. I didn't time it, but it was probably for less than 10 minutes. The car was clean, but we towel-cleaned all the sensors. When we got in, I got behind the wheel and still had the same splats and error messages. We all got back out and tried waiting longer this time. I should have timed it, but this time we were out for 10+ minutes and maybe as long as 15 minutes. My wife got behind the wheel and this time all the messages were gone. She drove us all the way back to Durham without any more error messages using both ACC and travel assist, which she took to nicely once they were working.

Based on the Googling I've done so far, I haven't seen much information about this nor remedies? Anyone have insight they can share? Is there something the dealer can do to fix this?

Edit: added the bit about cleaning the sensors^^^
Edit2: I tried pulling OBD diagnostic trouble codes with my Veepeak OBD BLE, but Car Scanner didn't find any to report. Tried doing so during our rest stop and again today--nothing. Not 100% sure I'm not missing something in the OBD app, but seems pretty straightforward.

I’m kinda shocked this is happening with ID.4 drive assist because in my experience of owning a Passat for 4 years with ACC never encountered any problem. So not like VW doesn’t know how to build or code this tech but it’s something specific about ID.4 software showing all kinds of errors. I truly hope they fix them all one by one.

I have the same problem since today together with many other. I drove now 5000km and sadly enough I have to confirm that our investment has a lot of software issues. Not talking about the breaks that make noice an old timer…. ☹
I’ve had this problem as well. In my case it resolved itself after the car cycled fully off and on while I was away for 20 minutes. I really think it would help if VW agave us a way to fully shut down the ID.4 while sitting inside it. This seems to be impossible with current software.

Mine just did the same, ACC and TA not available, and it chimed every five minutes or so to remind me. After sitting for 30 minutes and restarting, it went back to normal.
