I want to tell you about my experience with Alexandria VW, and I haven't even picked up my car yet.

In March, I first contacted Alexandria VW after locking in my AWD Pro S and asked to schedule a test drive. When I showed up at the dealer for the test drive, no one had any clue about my appointment, but luckily, a FE was available to test drive. The EV specialist wasn't available, and I asked if they could call me when available. The only call I ever got was from a salesperson trying to talk me into buying a FE because it was AWD too, and it was just a difference in the interior color. I should have looked into switching dealers right then since they were utterly clueless about the ID.4

Anyway, I go back in for a second test drive so my spouse can test drive the ID.4 in August; at least this time, they seem to know about the appointment. Again the EV specialist isn't available, and they'll have him call me. No call.

So this past Saturday, I sent them a message that my ID.4 is at the port of Baltimore and that I do not want them to do anything to it besides the standard prep and no add-ons.....no response other than an automated reply acknowledging that I submitted something.

So on the 25th, I sent an email directly to the sales manager (Aziz Kettani), including what I sent via the "contact us" page. I also clarified that I didn't want them putting any dealer logo on my ID.4 aside from a license plate holder. Again no response other than an automated reply acknowledging that I submitted something.

If this is how they treat their customers before a sale, I can only imagine what it will be like after I purchase the car. I wished it wasn't too late to switch dealers.

So sorry that you're experiencing this. I had a bit of flakiness there, too. They were great on the initial inquiry but considerably less helpful (never got back to me) when I had a follow-up question (after I'd reserved the car). I had a bad feeling about it and since mine was only recently locked, I switched dealers.

I'm at 20-1 for two weeks as of today. The emails are inconsistent. Earlier in the process there were some that I never got. But, I did get the leaving the factory email the day after mine turned 20-1. Since we apparently missed Glovis Sun, the next vessel scheduled for the west coast is the RCC Europe which should be in Emden next Monday, October 4.

Contact Dustin Krause (Director of eMobility VW) via LinkdedIN. I had issues with my dealer wanting to sell me the protection package. Dustin's team got involved andgot my dealer to promise to sell me the car @ MSRP with no extras.
You can also contact VW via Twitter (@VW). They are equally responsive

I had a very good experience at the Alexandria dealer for warranty repair. Well organized, good communications, open and honest along the way.

That being said, I switched to Alexandria after having a very poor experience at Fairfax VW, both with sales and service.

It's just crazy how bad they can be when they have a customer with money in hand ready to buy. This isn't hard.

They still seem setup for selling cars in the 1980s.

Good luck

I had a TERRIBLE experience with Fairfax Volkswagen, so even if you could switch from Alexandria, I don't think there are too many better options out there!

Do all NOVA dealers suck? I had terrible experiences getting my 2012 Jetta TDI serviced at Alexandria VW, then after locking my order and choosing Sheehy VW for the delivery, they tried to charge me $750 to replace an $18 part that took 3 minutes to replace. Every dealer in this area is a criminal enterprise.

I’ve been using Lindsay for 10+ years and 4 cars. No issues. My salesperson sends me a weekly email with status of my car.

Has anyone had their 10,000 mile service done? Since I had a bad experience at Fairfax and Alexandria doesn't seem much better, I don't know where to take it. Mine is coming up in 1,000 miles and I'm not sure I want to even bother to take it in anytime soon since I've had no problems with the car and I'm not sure what they even would do except check that the computer system is working. And I'm in Arlington, so Lindsay might be a bit far.

I'd have to check the documentation but I imagine that you need to have the 10K check in order to maintain the warranty. I'm in Woodbridge and took mine to Karen Radley for the 60 day check. This is my first VW so I have no prior experience with them but I have no complaints, so far.

Stohlman in Tysons perhaps? We used to take my wife's Golf there, and generally had pretty good service.

If you're willing to consider MD dealers, we had a very, very pleasant experience at Pohanka in Capitol Heights, MD (after a dreadful experience at Fairfax). We're at the looking stage, so no experience with service yet--though they said they have specially trained EV service people. The sales people we talked to were knowledgeable about EVs (rarely the case), friendly, and did not pressure us at all. They stayed late to allow us to test drive the vehicle, and their showroom was modern and immaculate. The EV expert even chatted with me about the Ioniq 5, Mach-E and EV6, too--pointing out their strengths (not just weaknesses in order to sell their own brand). If we go with the ID.4 (likely), we'll definitely go with them.
