I made an appointment for our ID.4 to have the light recall completed and to have the 5000 mile check up along with a few other minor issues. First I couldn’t get appointment until 4 weeks out and I was told to expect them to have the car for up to 5 days because their shop is so backed up. I called a few other dealers and they said the same thing. I was told this was due to lack of employees and the fact that car sales are on the rise and they have a lot of new check ups to do. This is in Arizona, is anyone else experiencing this, I guess we can blame the “stay at home for free money” program just like the lack of help at restaurants and retail. Come on America let’s get back to work.

No point in inserting political agenda at the end there. You have absolutely no clue about what a lot people have gone through. And you are making assumptions just because you aren’t getting appointment people are not working enough.

Wasn’t trying to be political and yes I live in America and do have clue what people have gone through. Was just wondering if this was a nation wide problem or just an issue in our area. Don’t get your panties in a wad or take it personal. I am not a political person

Sounds like a problem in your area. I just got off the phone with my service center to schedule my double check service and was able to make an appointment for early next week with no problem.
Nice to hear. Must be our dealerships here in this area.
Yeah, no. 5000 mile check up and light recall (30 seconds) took a total of 1/2 hour from intake to pulling out of the driveway here in Florida.

I think you are out of place in this forum telling someone with a service issue about how they should respond. I too KNOW folks that are not working for one lame reason or another. Many folks out there have failed to get a Covid vaccine because they are just STUPID. If the government had tied any financial relief to showing proof of having the vaccine I am positive more folk would have the vaccine now. Personally I feel that some VW dealers are not prepared to service the ID4 properly, and I believe they are using the pandemic as an excuse. I had no problem getting an appointment for the same service that KB57 wanted. They did the service in less than an hour.
Again, I dont want this to be a political site, it is very very frustrating that my car will be at the dealership for 4 to 12 days for a 30 to 60 minute fix. This is the same scenario with all the dealerships in this area, they are to the point that if you didn’t buy your car with them, you get the back burner for appointments. Again, let’s not make this political, but something needs to change.
It seems super sketch that they would need your car for 5 days after a 4 week wait. Why not just have you make the appointment for a day they can actually fit you in?
I asked them that, they said they are so backed up they need the car there so when they have the time they will get it in. I know sounds ridiculous.
