My local dealer has 6 of 8 units (2022) showing available to reserve vs sale pending. Shockingly last week I had a cold call from different dealer that sold me my E-Golf back in 3/2020 to see if I was interested in trading it in for an ID.4 - guess the bubble is bursting on the used/new car market. Told them I was not interested and to check back in with me in the new year - they were disinterested 6 months ago while they were chasing crazy markups so I am disinterested now.

Nice! Definitely not seeing that in san diego, Ca. Might takes 2-3 months to filter through.

A place to keep on eye on stock availability, and lowering markups for them ideally.. below msrp in due time. I'm not buying a 2022 personally. Don't want one, want a 2023.

Most of that inventory is probably the cars that are already sold/reserved. Probably just getting more shipments from germany at this point.

Had another dealer call me for a cancellation pro s 2022 today , they wanted $1400 over MSRP. Had to say no but they are coming slowly.

Well got ANOTHER call today from same dealer in san diego, another cancellation. Seems like deliveries are picking up now or they just had a major drop .

Which one. I did a cursory search and Kearny Mesa seems to have 6, out of which 1 does not have a "sale pending". Some of the other ones don't even have a single one on the lot (reserved or not).

KM. They call you if you are on the list. Getting calls more often since last week. Seems like more are coming.

So I visited and called multiple san diego dealer today. As of today every single one had at least one in stock, they were selling. Looks like this is the start. They also said they are getting more in. Seems like deliveries are off to a good start. Yes they did have massive markups on all of them which isn't; helping.

Not really. Just the beginning. Before it wouldn't have sat for a day even with markup. Now it's sitting a good few days as they negotiate the markup down in person. Inventory is going up. I for one, have a locked 2023 on the way, and no longer want a 2022, even for discount if they ever find the need to do so.

I would agree with that. The whole goal here is the stamp “Made in America” needs to become common again.

That's not the point of the bill as it allows for any country in NA to be the supplier.. a.k.a mexico or canada as well.
