You are making up stuff that buyers aren't 'fanboys' and that as a result of the IRA there are cars available for purchase and that the number increases every day and you use VW Pasadena as an example. But if you check their list of 'stock' here: New Vehicles | Volkswagen Pasadena | VW Dealership you can see that they actually do not have a single one sitting on the lot. So you keep saying that number is increasing when in fact it's zero. Go to their dealership and check it out for yourself. Ask for Jorge if you have questions, he's great. (It's my local dealership and where I got my ID4 from).

And don't worry about people being fanboys, it's their right to love the product they bought and if it bothers you, I suggest to change your attitude and life will be more fun.
+1. I've found that pretty much anyone resorting to a "yeah, well you're just a fanboy" as a "counter-argument" in a discussion can pretty safely be ignored. It's just another type of fallacious ad hominem attack made by someone who doesn't have a reasoned position to begin with.

Big caveat that this learning is true when demand exceeds supply, which should continue well into next year. But when the supply chain issues are gone, it could be a different story.
Maybe. But also maybe not.

The future is famously unpredictable. For example, a year ago, I didn’t hear anyone correctly predicting what was going to happen to VW EV production and sales in the face of a Russian invasion of the Ukraine, a sunken car carrier, inflation, worsening Euro exchange rates vs the dollar, a European energy crisis, high U.S. gas prices, or the effective gutting of the U.S. federal tax credit.

Without actual data or other evidence about U.S. sales, we’re all just speculating, which I suppose is one of the fun things about a forum like this. For me, when I speculate, I try to base my speculation on present reality and as much data as I have available rather than on my own wishful thinking.

Just received this from a local VW dealer in the Seattle area

There are now 2 Id.4 Pro S available.

I've attached window stickers for both on this email.

The ID.4s are ready now and will have $6,000 added due to availability.

If you want one, please reach out ASAP.
I would email them back with:

"Thanks. I'm ready to buy today and will be subtracting $8000 from your offer due to a Customer Market Adjustment. If you want me as a customer, please reach out ASAP."

I have a 21 (not FE) with the 2.1 software and its not very bad its been fine. I have had no lag, and no reboots or any other problems. Other than the bad navigation and myVW app which they still have not fixed in 3.1. And the 21s are not stuck with it, since VW sent a letter that we will be updated to the latest software starting in the next 2 months. I will not be one of the first to update, since I have had no problems, and all the 22 and 23 are reporting many more problems than I have had.
I also have a 2021 AWD, and my experience has been almost identical to yours. No software issues whatsoever other than slow startup in a cold system. I'm also seeing the reports of issues with the 3.1 software that I would rather not have, so I'm in no hurry for an upgrade.

Unfortunately, a narrative of widespread software issues with the 2.1 software has gained dominance due to some early, negative reviews and the tendency of some to expect the car to be an "iPad with a car attached" rather than evaluating the car as mainly a car. Some people just treat the "bad software" narrative as a knee-jerk fact and can't get beyond this perception, no matter how many real-world reports from real-world drivers there are to the contrary. It's interesting to hear what others perceive as issues, I suppose, but in the end, I'll draw my own conclusions based on the actual car I drive every day with no issues.
