I reserved an ID4 AWD in August (still in first stage) and I believe when I did that I got an estimated delivery for March or April of '22.
Now, when I look up my reservation, I can not find that anymore. The FAQ show that there should be info in a "delivery tracker" but I can not find that as well.
Any help ?
Also, I specified my nearest VW dealer in the reservation. Is that a fixed decision? I guess it may be as good as any other dealer but in case I do not like the way being treated or anything else I would appreciate if I could change that when the car is available. So how does that work, practically?

You should see an estimated delivery window (2 months) shown on the main portal page at top right. This is the page with the status wheel and first page after logging in.

Per other’s experiences, you can change your preferred dealership very simply via the chat window or calling customer care up until you lock your order (status 3 if you get into the data via developer tools). I think someone was able to change even at status 3 but once status 10 is reached any opportunity is gone.

So best to find out about your selected dealer now.

If your order is a deposit, you can change the dealer (at the $100 level). If you order is locked, changing the dealer is MUCH more difficult. Your VW dealer CAN do it, depending on where it is in the production chain, but it's much harder.

If the car gets to your indicated dealer and you can't make the deal, the dealer still owns the car. They have no reason really at the moment to allow it to be transferred to another dealer to sell it to you at a different price due to limited availability.

Don't ask me how I know. ;)
