The only problem is that the car is silent, so a passer by may think you locked your dog in the car w/o A/C and break your window. LOL

I just got a manual thermometer and will see if I can fashion a way to hang it facing out of the driver side window.

I dunno, the sound of the HVAC system running seems pretty noticeable from outside to me, at least when it's actual warm or cold weather.

I wish it was as obvious and as Dog friendly as the actual Tesla Dog Mode. I believe (don't quote me) the climate control turns off after 30 min but that is the pre condition mode and that could be totally separate from the immediate control on the goodbye screen. Tesla does it sooooo much better with a live screen that tells "Karen" that the dog is enjoying comfortable temps. I think you would need at least one written page taped to a window explaining the state of the car and an thermometer displaying a comfortable temp to keep people from reporting you.

It would definitely be good if they would update it to indicate temp and that the system is active. If nothing else it would show the driver that it's working, which isn't always clear.
You can keep track with the CarNet app if it is working. You can also adjust the intended temps but unfortunately not view the current temp.

I mean on the main display, not the app. I'm assuming most passerby will not be logged into the vw app as me.
Ah, right. Yeah, the Tesla dog mode would be a good place to copy from. I’ll have to play with it but it’s possible you could get it by pressing the button to turn on when not sitting in the driver seat and bringing up temp controls.
