Hi all, I forgot to measure during test drive and can't seem to find this dimension on the interwebs.

How long are the front and rear doors?
Have to make sure I can open them in my garage without hitting the wife's car.

Thanks in advance!

(I'm stuck at "confirmed: building your car", step for months)

Our garage must be lots tighter than yours - We've never been able to open any door fully without hitting the other car or the adjacent wall with ANY car we've ever had in there for the past 15 years . . . . and it's never been a problem. We're really careful not to damage our own cars!

I now have a pad on my garage foundation lip area specifically for my driver's door (now have to nose-in; left front door), just in case. The lower arc cut-out shape of the left-rear door is no issue however. I do park a bit closer on the driver's side tho' to give my wife more space in her bay (she's not very good at pulling in straight, nor watching her driver's max door swing :().
As an engineer I innately see problems coming and try to take pre-emptive precautions. Having said that, with the ID.4 I no longer [always] park in shopping center hinterlands. I've [at times] returned to a more Jeep-esque mindset. I still tend to more protect my driver's side however as most viewed. 🤷‍♂️

Don't know what you are talking about, I can't even close to open doors all the way, so the door length is really important. Thus my question ;)

Don's agreeing that you can't typically fully open your garage wall side doors, with any vehicle, but also that if you're careful it's not typically an issue. ;)

My prior 2-door TT had very wide doors so I had to be even more careful.

Careful is easier when you are a normal sized person. I'm not. This door is much shorter than mine now so I'm good. Thanks all!

At least garage center lally columns are pretty much a thing of the past given engineered lumber or steel main span I-beams in most newer ones. My father wrapped our column in a pad to safeguard against my mother's door-swinging actions. :ROFLMAO:

Lady members, I'm not being intentionally chauvinistic, just the facts [Ma'am] in my experience. ;)

Just to be sure I'm not misleading you, the 36"/35" I mentioned is the distance the doors stick out from the sides at full open, which is less than the actual length of the doors (since some of it disappears in the the hinge area and they don't open full 90 degrees). The actual door length is closer to 46" front, 42" rear.
