What part did the dealer order?

I suspect I will feel like you if it takes 2 weeks plus to repair.I thought so too and drove it 2 weeks almost until I stopped enjoying the experience of door opening on its own
Not that they told me.Did they disconnect the electronic side to prevent it from opening automatically?
I don’t think so.Did they modify anything?
I had thought this might be due to VW getting a bad batch of door handles from a supplier.Yes we are in UK. The replacement handle took one week to arrive from Germany and it is now in the body shop being sprayed to match the car colour. We are fortunate to have this sorted out relatively quickly.
1. I now realise that twice, when I could not remove the charger from supermarket charging stations, this was probably related to the central locking fault and not me doing something wrong!
2. In addition, Automatic Cruise Control and Auto-Hold have been failing randomly - these are also related issues as they do not work if the driver door is not closed properly.
Good luck with the handle replacement! Let's hope this resolves the issue. VW really need to act immediately to protect ID4 drivers!
My dealer originally said he would have the door handle by middle of the next week (this was on a Friday). After 5,000 problem-free miles and 10 months, my 2021 Pro S AWD developed the same door-opening randomly while at stoplights issue as others here. Took it in for service today (24 hours after calling dealership). They diagnosed as needing a new door latch, say part will be here tomorrow, should be ready tomorrow afternoon.
I'm of course skeptical based on others' reports that it's the door latch. I think it's obviously the handle mechanism. I'm also getting the "error: auto hold" and "driver assistance not available" errors reported in the other thread linked here.
Also of note: we had some recent bouts of freezing rain here and it seems others have been able to tie the fault to those weather events.
And let's just get this out of the way before PANZERidIV decides to weigh in again: I know how to operate my door handles, and it's a malfunction.
The Problem with the MyVW app showing old information (showing the door unlocked or opened after it has been closed) could be unrelated to this door handle problem.Mostly unlocked and sometimes it showed open.
Mine is the front passenger door.Take it to dealer and let us know what estimate you are getting.
I really hope it's just going to be the driver door. Service advisor also mentioned they had several Id.4s with the same issue but to my question if it was a driver door for all of them he couldn't recall.
My central locking wasn't working when experiencing the door un latching issue. Here is a question which I couldn't find in this thread. For the people where the door opened was the central locking active - aka the yellow light on the door handle - to indicate all doors are locked when the door opened?
^^THIS^^I don’t know why the dealers can’t get an ETA. I think my service guy is getting tired of me asking. He said he still has no idea. Could be a few days, could be a month. I’m trying my best not to be angry since it won’t do any good. But I’m sure having doubts about VW.
Yes I am still driving my car.Are any of you using your iD4 with this issue?
My door now no longer locks at all and pops open when parking/driving. Is there a way to manually lock the door? If I lock with the fob, leave the fob far away from the car it reports the car as unlocked. If I walk up to the car without the key I can physically force the handle to open (the electronic unlock does not sense my hand). It seems the electronic door lock has completely failed on that one door.
The technician was able to pull error codes from the door handle when I brought mine in.After several days of my issues with my door handle, this evening it seems to be working normally. Should I keep my service appointment tomorrow? I assume they actually need to see the problem first hand to offer any kind of resolution. I don’t have 3 hours to waste unnecessarily, and could easily make another appointment when it next plays up. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I hope you get the parts in a day or so.Just an update on my issue in case its helpful for others:
Took my iD.4 in today and the technician was able to replicate the issue and ordered replacement parts (door handle, latch, and one other? Maybe it was mechanism?). They said the parts should arrive in a day or so.
Assuming everything goes as expected I guess this means that the parts are more readily available now?
I’m actually out of state helping take care of my grandson because my daughter had surgery.Any updates? I’m following your journey, because we’re only a few weeks behind you. I really think that we are going to push for a buyback. The lack of communication from VW isn’t sitting well with me.
