The driver’s side door handle and the other handles just take getting used to. I think most of the issues are from people who just went for a test drive and didn’t have time to figure anything out or they purchased it recently and are still learning their new modern car. I was overwhelmed by the technology for awhile too. But people just need to chill and maybe cup back on the coffee.

Just responding to many new posters who are having trouble figuring out their door handles. As soon as the OP posts up their completed workorder then you will know the complete story too. Until then feel free to post up any helpful advice since nobody knows anything about this one-off problem until then.

OP can you please post up your completed workorder when you take it in? I would highly recommend you get it towed to the shop immediately!

Just like any car don’t accept something that is broken when it is under warranty. However I do exempt the ID.4’s random error messages (though I did have it checked out at the dealer) because BEV’s are a new technology and I don’t expect them to get everything right at first. I really am not a fan of electro-mechanical-touch doors. They are not very intuitive and I have actually had someone fall on the ground trying to open my unlocked passenger door.🫢

These doors take some getting used to for opening them so naturally people are immediately jumping to its a “problem.”We ALL had to get used to them. I think they my call it “progress.” Glad it wasn’t just my generation that gets caught! 🤣

Now you doors flying open well I am pretty sure the computer logs that so it shouldn’t be a problem to fix the few newbies reporting that. But in fact that hasn’t been a problem since the 1960’s or 1970’s as far as I have ever heard.
