From the horses's mouth

Yeah, it never bothered me… Nor do the steering wheel capacitive buttons. I like the volume slider on the wheel too… it’s subtle. Now, the door lock and window controls on the other hand… don’t get me started :ROFLMAO:

I have to agree with him.

1. For volume control I always use the steering wheel controls
2. I almost never adjust the temperature since its automatic climate control, but when I do it is usually when I first get in the car (not driving) and I have no issue focusing on that area long enough to hit the correct control.

I would agree that the non-buttons isn't an issue. I can use them in the dark fine after a couple of times to get used to it. I am an Old Dog but I love this New Tricks car.

I do have a question I can not figure out. How to turn off the radio. I don't mean lower volume I mean OFF. I think I turn it off and the next time I get in the car it is back even at the lowest volume setting where I left it on the last drive.

This will probably be simple, but I WANT OFF! I have hearing issues and even soft music is just noise to me.

Anyone?

In the Settings, there's a setting for the “Maximum Radio Volume at Startup”; you can probably set this to zero and you can certainly set it to the lowest non-zero value.

On our 2023, swiping the volume all the way left mutes the radio.

Good idea. I haven't tried this yet, but will here shortly.
It surprises me that almost everything in this car turns off constantly to save power with each cycle, but not the darn radio.
Thank you.

This doesn't mute mine. It turns it to very low, but I can still hear it just a little in the background.

The “Radio” isn't just the Radio; it's just a software subsystem (with a teeny-tiny bit of hardware) within the huge mass of telematics hardware and software. From a power point of view, “Turning off the Radio” is almost meaningless.

I don't care what they call it, I just want to be able to turn it off or at least the volume OFF!

Press the power button on the main screen will Mute the volume. It seems to stay muted each time I get in the car (at least within the same day). Might stay Muted for several days, just haven't tried that.

Not sure how low the Start-up Volume can be set, but you may want to adjust that as well. It's under the Sound tile.

It is usable but it is a terrible oversight. My personal experience is the ID4 does a great job of maintaining a continuous cabin temp so I just set it and forget it, but no excuse for the lack of backlights.

Quickly touching the power button on the display with mute / unmute audio, be it the radio or streaming service.

Is there a "radio delete" option? I've bought many vehicles that way.

This does turn it off, but it seems to come back.

As low as it can be set is exactly where it ends up. Not off.
